I've been to Louisiana many times many, many times. The weather is about the same as where I live, so that's a wash. The people and the culture (if you stay out of tourist traps like N.O.) is incredible. One time, many years ago, me and my best friend were driving around (we went to N.O. for...

I can't cut down that tree for several reasons... 1) it's the only tree on my entire property, 2) Our HOA requires a tree in the front yard. And they are serious about it.
One of my neighbors had his tree crack in half during one of our hurricanes. He had it removed. Within...
I put the D.E. Boom Mat insulation in yesterday. While this hard-topped Jeep (my first ever with a hard top) was already much quieter than my rag-top past, I read that the insulation not only helps with noise, it help with A/C, that's what I was more interested in.
I've learned that the...
90* and 100% humidity is hot to you ?? :)
That's the average temperature here beginning sometime around April.... Summertime temps hit over 100* every day with "feel like" temps 116* or higher. Humidity is always 100%. You can put a brand new hard sponge outside and by noon it'll be...
Now granted, I am a total newbie to the Gladiator platform, having mine for about 3 weeks... I know there is a posted pic of an airbag poking out a "mail slot" type hole on the dash panel, but with the advent of A.I., I very rarely take a photo as proof anymore...
But looking at the dash of my...
You guys still change your own oil ?? :surprised:
I haven't changed my own oil since around 2009. Maybe earlier.
Reasons ?
1. I live in Texas, where it's hotter than the door knob to Hell. I have quite literally, put a 1st degree burn on my palm because I unknowingly left a wrench on my...
It might be a 70's thing....or maybe a Long Island thing....I dunno. But whenever you were bouncing around off-road and your passenger grabbed that handle, you'd mutter, "Chicken......" ;)
I swear I didn't make that up !!
LOL
Maybe 4.7 quarts including replacing the filter, if you use a slightly smaller filter.
It's strictly for looks. I would never base my maintenance on a plaque. I also chuckled at the fording depth. Yeah, I'd go that deep.... Can it ? I'll never know.
Yep, I looked into that. The airbag is deployed below the dash panel, between the dash panel and the chicken bar, inflating out and upward. The dash panel does not move. At least on my 2023 you can clearly see the airbag "section" that will deploy with "airbag" embossed in the area.
It...
I added the data plate to my dash. Had a M38A1 growing up. Former Marine, 3531, meaning I drove a deuce and a half back when the Corps still had them (yes, I'm old). I think 5 tonners are the smallest now.. Data plates are in my blood. While this data plate is plastic, I like it. I had to...
We think alike !! But I've been married for going on 35 years, been together 38. I flat-out asked her. She said, "No. It can wait. That's a "want", not a "need". We have a lot of other more important things to buy." And she's right.
Agreed, it ain't the cheapest, but I like the results. I console myself by saying, "How much did this Jeep cost ? A whole lot more than this stuff does." then I Add to Cart.
I came across a pic of my Willys shortly after I got my Jr. license. This always happened whenever I stopped...the pile on...lol. I took the pic, so I'm not in it. The girl laying on the hood was my girlfriend Ruth (RIP, 2 years ago now). The others were her Mom and Dad, brothers and sisters...
This weekend was the first weekend that didn't threaten rain since I bought my Gladiator, so I decided to really give the Jeep a going over. I clay-bar'd the paint, then gave it a massage with the new Prime Day random orbital. I used Griots Best of Show wax, gotta say I like it. Then I put...
When I was 16-17, me and my best friend were always looking for ways to have harmless fun. One of the things I liked to do with the ol' Willys M38A1 was put on the snorkel, the tail pipe extension and fill a spare innertube with air. Go to the beach. Put a cooler (with beer of course, ya...
Here is the 1953 Willys that my Dad bought while I was in the Corps. (79-83) The previous owner bought it new, used it on his ranch and for some reason he painted it white with a paint brush. In the late 90's we began restoring it. He passed in 2003, I dragged it to my house with plans on...
I went a little crazy... Rough Country power running boards (requested by my wife and mother-in-law), soft tonneau cover, rubber door sill guards, coasters for the console, windshield hold-down straps, and some other questionable non-Jeep related stuff.... Basically my Christmas done early....
Growing up, being the middle child and the only boy (two older sisters and two younger sisters, yay me), I always felt my Dad was merciless with me; very strict. No beatings or anything like that, he just had rules. No wavering. If he said, "Do this by ___ or this____ will happen.". And he...
I guess I will sit down and watch that movie, I never have. I've been reminded of the movie several times, and I've been saying that silly statement for decades. Time to start a-streaming !! LOL
