I ran EDT+Winter from the 1st tank when I picked mine up in January until the overnight temps were out of the low 20s. Since then I've been running LX4, 2oz every fill up. My understanding is LX4 is the component of EDT that improves lubricity.
I'm usually closer to 1/8th tank when I refuel...
I have a Metalcloak Gamechanger 2.5" arriving today for my Rubicon diesel. I looked it AEV and Clayton as well. I decided on Metalcloak for the full package for less than the Clayton without shocks. If you're not in a big hurry, watch for holiday sales from Metalclock to save a little more.
A couple of things on the Departure interest me. This is the second year for the "prototype" flat fenders with OEM fender lights. I would really like to see those hit the Mopar catalog.
The tube tailgate with tire mount makes me wonder if something similar could be developed for the Gladiator...
One of the few disappointing things from my JL gas to JTD transition was the smaller fuel tank due to the addition of the DEF tank. I've done some poking around and it looks like the gas and diesel options share the same in tank fuel pump. If a new location for the DEF could be found (that...
Placed an order for 5 this morning. I was ready to pull the trigger on some Patagonia X/Ts for similar price but feel better about a tried and true brand, even at these "cheap" prices!
Thanks to the OP for sharing and to all that ordered and verified these are the real deal!
The steering wheel on my 2020 JLUR felt a lot warmer than my new 2023 JTRD's. The overall feel of the steering wheel feels different too. Might be a different material covering the wheel with different thermal properties? I don't know for sure but it's definitely noticable between the two.
I'm a fan of the Weathertechs.
I had them on the front on my '20 JLUR and they did the job at keeping the door handles clean even from slinging some mud off-roading. They also held up to trail runs in Ouray/Silverton Colorado and multiple SMORR trips in SW Missouri. 3 years of use with no...
I've had diesel trucks in the past and at least in the midwest it seems the chances of a station not having an auto-diesel pump (small nozzle) is very high. In fact my last fill-up was at a busy station right off the interstate and it only had large nozzle pumps. I just don't want to be in a...
I played around with my bore camera and it does look like a CP4 pump. I was able to get a shot of the dimple pattern. 3 in one row and one in the other:
There is an o-ring on the outside of the plastic part so it's not a loose fit after rotating. Rotate it a quarter turn then turn it back and forth slightly while pulling outward on it. As shown in the video you need to work it out past the o-ring before you can easily pull it out by hand.
My 23 JTDR was built in January. There is a plastic cover (that looks like a bear to remove) over the fuel pump so I can't see any distinguishing characteristics. What should I be looking for? Here is a pic from the front. It looks like a CP4 but no clue what version. Wasn't able to get any...
Correct. Opened the fuel door, removed fuel cap, insert the "tool", twist, and pull.
When you take it apart any pieces would be captured in the trap door assembly if they somehow broke off and fell inside. I don't see that happening because the plastic seems to be flexible enough that you...
Hey all. Late to the party but new to the Gladiator Ecodiesel. I just pulled the guts out of my fuel fill neck and wanted to share an easy way to do it.
I started by trying to push in the tabs but couldn't access the top one well enough to push it in. So I tried something different.
I found...
Interesting, but my experience was different. I started the order process for a 23 JTRD in early August going through the order sheet with my salesman. He contacted me a few days later saying they were not able to place the order with the Advanced Safety Group yet and would continue to try...
