  1. Towmater build

Mopar LED conversion of headlights, tail lights, and daytime running lights. Changed all the appropriate settings via JSCAN. Also installed Mojave footwell lights that stay on while driving and are adjustable by the ambient dimmer dial that controls the door handle lights.

  3. Winter Driving - Fishtailing

Physics in action. Wide tire footprint + all terrain tread profile + rear wheel drive = little traction. 4WD and extra weight will get you going, but you will still have a harder time stopping unless you address all three factors. For the same reason, I run a dedicated set of 265/70/17...
  4. The "Mopar lift" - an honest curiosity...

Thank you. The lift goes well with 33s indeed. No spacers and there is a slight rake of about 1" vs. my original stock rake of 1 5/8". I added the Mopar front LCAs and kept the stock track bars. I'm also running airbags when towing my camper. The front axle shifted 1/4" to the driver side...
  5. The "Mopar lift" - an honest curiosity...

I had both the Clayton 2.5" and Mopar lift parts sitting on the garage floor, trying to decide which one to go with. Ended up going with the Mopar for several reasons: - Warranty was not a factor as I installed the lift myself. - Wanted to keep the truck as a daily driver and tow friendly. -...
  6. Death Wobble at 14k miles

Had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. I noticed play in the Drag Link Adjuster Clamp even though it was torqued to spec. May be worth checking: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/major-tire-wobble-and-cure.85884/
  7. Photo Request: 2 inch lift w/ 33inch tires

My favorite wheels and color combo. I like how the 315 poke out just the right amount.

Mopar 2.5" lift with Toyo AT3.
  9. Major tire wobble and cure

I experienced a major tire wobble, reminiscent of the death wobble during my LJ days. I was getting onto the highway, hit a bump going about 45mph when the front tires started shaking uncontrollably, forcing me to slow down. A few hundred feet later and back up to speed, the same wobble...
  10. Towmater build

Airbags are in. I used the Airlift 60830 with an extra hockey puck on the bottom to fill in the height of the Mopar lift. Mounted the Schrader valves on the bottom of the rear bumper and ran separate lines. Left the coil isolators in place until I notice any rubbing on the bags.
  11. Rear spaces to level out during towing

I just installed the same set of bags on my truck for similar reasons. You can fold them and squeeze them between the coils without needing to remove the suspension. I warmed up the bags with hot water to make them more pliable. It helps to jack up the rear by the frame to give you more space...
  12. Towmater build

I agree. The topper follows the lines of the truck just right. I'm pleased towing with the Mopar lift as it carries the weight just as well if not slightly better than the Max tow suspension. I was concerned that the Mopar coils would be softer but that wasn't the case. When hooking up about...
  13. Towmater build

I could always install a bigger lift and bigger tires to make the trailer look smaller :)
  14. Towmater build

Ditched the trifold tonneau cover for an ARE Classic topper. It weighs in at 160lbs. Outdoorsman win-doors, headliner, OTR paint, sliding front window.
  15. The *definitive* BCM programming for adding OEM LED DRL/Turns to your Halogen JT as long as it has "Rubicon" flares ( Mojave etc )

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Very helpful when I recently upgraded my Halogen DRL to the Mopar LEDs. I can confirm that depinning PIN 1 will resolve the marker code. For the fun of it it removed pin 1 on the passenger side and left it pinned on the driver side. Cleared the codes with...
  16. Towmater build

Swapped the Max Tow / Rubicon combo for a Mopar 2" lift. Gained 3 1/4" lift up front and 2 1/4" in the rear. Curious to see how the rear Mopar springs compare to the Max Tow springs once I hook up my camper.
  17. Wheel & Tire Weight vs Towing Capacity

Is the 1,245lbs payload you mentioned from the yellow door jamb sticker? Wheels and tires count against your payload also. Per your CAT scale results, you have no payload left for tongue weight: 6250 GVWR - 6540 actual weight = -290 over You could tow 12,450 GCWR - 6540 actual weight = 5910...

  19. 2024 Gladiator Build & Price Configurator is Finally Live!

Looking more into Jeep documents, I don't know how much I trust them. They have conflicting information on their spec sheets, brochures, and website. Just look at the Rubicon and Mojave GAWR of 2,952. The 1710lbs payload was only available with the manual transmission in the past and is now...
