It's not play BETWEEN them, the frame flexes from the force of the steering acting thru the box and bolts. The brace stiffens up the area and distributes the load better
Mine steered "well" too, I didn't have the slop that many do. However I didnt realize just how badly affected it was by bumps and what not until after i installed the brace.

I believe the front inners are the same and back MAY be different but I cannot say for sure.
They don't come with inners as far as I know
For lights if you get the LED you have to enable them with Tazer or similar, or have the dealer to it

The nfab step hoops is slightly lower than the factory steps... But for me it was still to high to be functional. And all of their hoops are in the same location on their different products (I contacted them directly at the time)
I tried a couple different aftermarket steps and they all seem to cause the same problem.
The drop down style(nfab and rc) had the same problem getting out but a different problem getting in. Once on the step I was Soo high over the cab it was droping down into a Corvette... I'm a big guy so...

Do you have any access to a scanner to pull the codes?
If not then it sounds like a call to AAA for a hook to your nearest dealer

And make sure your cell plan has hotspot/tethering included in your data
