Death Wobble 101: The wheels & tires MUST run true and be properly balanced. If not checked and repaired first anything else you do is a waste of time. Test the rims with a dial indicator for true running mounted on the vehicle. Test for runout (radial) and wobble (axial). If either is off go...
Itâs probably the fuel you put in it. Mfrs used to âwashâ catalytic converters with nickel to eliminate the sulphur smell. Thatâs expensive so they have reduced the amount of nickel in the process. Fuel high in sulphur will thus emit an embarrassing smell. Change gas stations and see if the...
If it is standard or optional OEM equipment on a new vehicle covered by a factory warranty it IS covered. I think this may be a dealer just trying to make money. OTOH, if itâs something aftermarket the dealer added on as an accessory then it may not be covered
Aside from quality issues (try putting a little paint on the damn vehicles, eh Jasper?) might want to address the price / value relationship before putting $85,000 retail prices on live axle, body on frame utility vehicles. How hard is this? "Arrogance" starts with overpricing with a perfectly...
Check out Discount Tires wheel viewer. You tell them what your rig is and the model & color, then pick out a wheel and it will give a view of your vehicle with the wheel fitted. TAlked me out of a set of Raceline Monsters on my Hydro Blue '23 Willys. Stock wheel look better. Money saved. Slick!
I remember when VWs had the battery under the rear seat cushion. If you didnât put that little plastic thing that looked like a toy table over the top of the positive post on the battery if a fat guy sat in the seat the coils in the cushion would short and catch fire. It was great fun!
BrutalâŠ..all advice re water is well given, being on the red rocks is like being in a skillet. A good time to head into the La Sals. Thatâs what the locals do.
Sounds like the tranâs adaptive program is ârelearningâ driving conditions and driver behavior. Sometimes the powertrain logic, having learned your driving routine, is co fronted by new data and goes âwtf?â
From my experience weeping like that on the housing (no dripping) is from gear lube getting around the seating surfaces of the seal shell, not from the lip on the pinion shaft.Replacing the seal, but putting RTV on the seating surface will stop it.
I agree. Check the caster angle, When you lift the front end you need to lengthen the lower control arms to not only correct the caster angle, but also re-align the lower spring seats into the horizontal plane.
You most likely have a combination of problems. Since it seems your issues started with the tires (I'm no fan of Falken products) have the tires properly balanced. If possible by a tire shop that can employ a Hunter Road Force machine. That will eliminate them as a source of the issues, although...
20 years ago I did it running my 94 YJ on 35â BFG MTs, D44 front w/ARB, D60 rear with Detroit, Rubi Express 4.5â leaf spring lift. The ARB wasnât working, made it right through.
I found with both my â23 JT and the ones we use for Jeep tours that the fuel spit-back issue only occurs at certain gas stations. Iâve noticed in those cases that the nozzles at the station where we have the overflow problem have a faster fill rate, plus their nozzles wonât extend into the...
I have a feeling much of this is doing the common "EGR delete" on the wretched Ford 6.0L Powerstroke diesel. The EGR apparently caused an assortment of issues and the delete had many benefits, but for certain removing it is a legal no-no.
