I think that refers to bleeding the abs system as well as the main circuit. As long as the master cylinder isn’t allowed to completely empty conventional bleeding processes work properly. I like pressure bleeding as that’s what the factories use when the vehicles are assembled. Vacuum bleeding...
Correct. The bolt doesn't care how it is turned 145 degrees, breaker bar or torque wrench. Do your initial torque with your torque wrench, then make a paint mark on the bolt head, and a second mark on the bracket 145 degrees away, which is a little bit past 3/8s of a turn. Turn the bolt however...
‘94 YJ bought in ‘95, became a money pit rock crawler w/ Dynatrac 44/60, etc. Add a ‘96 XJ daily driver that gave way to a new ‘01 Grand Cherokee, alongside a ‘76 CJ5 that became a retirement restoration project. The YJ gave way to a new ‘09 JKUR crawler that I refer to as where my 401(k) went...
This seems to be a corporate problem that has been around for at least 15 years. My ‘09 JK does this and you have to get above 40-45 mph before it wakes up and corrects the reading. My new ‘23 Gladiator does the exact same thing, but it’s a bigger PITA because when it’s reading 18 degrees and...
I just noted this big bracket bolted to the frame on the passenger front, back side of the wheel well. No matching one on driver side. Seems to have no purpose whatsoever. Anyone know what it’s for?
All good comments. I assume you have added some form of suspension modifications in order to run the 37s, and that you have used something like a Tazer or used JScan to reset your system's to accommodate the larger diameter tires. ABS/traction control issues can come up if the axles aren’t...
When the brake warning light on our business' Dodge Caravan illuminated I opened the hood to see if the brake fluid level was low. Instead I discovered a very large, very terrified rabbit that had been eating the leads to the brake fluid level sensor. He was ok, but had taken a ride under the...
I have Bartacts on my '09 JKUR. The fronts were installed a couple years before I got the rear set. Over the intervening period of time something must have happened with their production. While the fronts fit perfectly, the rears do not and the difference is obvious. You might contact them and...
I’d say room temp. I did the Freedom Panels on the dinning room table and the hardtop panels in a heated garage. There are only two thin strips of the 3M tape on each panel, and the panels have some weight to them. Needs at least double what they supply.
Bringing this back up. The install on my new Gladiator did not go at all well. They provide a skimpy amount of the 3M tape adhesive. We thoroughly scuffed and acetone prepped the mounting areas of the roof panels per their supplied instructions. Despite this the panels one at a time fell off...
I have a 4” Teraflex long arm on my ‘09 JK. I’m only a few hours from Moab, the sliders, control arms and underside of the rig bear many rock scars courtesy of those trails. Scrapes are fine, try not to hit it so hard you bend stuff. If you bend it, hey, you wanna play, you gotta pay.
I've had a set of magnetic mount LUX rock lights on my JKUR for quite a few years now. They are wired along with spot & wide beam Rigid lights. They are wired via a first gen sPod system that works great. sPod has some JT systems that are pretty pricey but will likely perform well...
I think it just depends upon how you'll use the truck. A couple weekends ago I installed the Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit on my new '23 Willys Sport to get rid of the rake get a bit more clearance in front. To get back the caster lost to the leveling kit, last weekend I installed the longer lower...
We have five Gladiator Sport Max Tow automatics in Jeep tour service here and in Moab. We use the manual mode regularly when descending steep grades to prevent overheating of the brakes and have had no issues whatsoever with the transmissions. Something isn’t right with your setup, I’d be...
There was 45 lbs of air pressure in my new Gladiator's tires whe I drove it home. I reduce it to 35 lbs, 37 is way too much IMHO. It came with some wretched 255/75 (32”) BFG KM2 mud terrains, a tire I had on my JK and hated, so I swapped them out for some Rubi spec 285/70s (33”) KO2s as this is...
