Looking to flat tow our JTRD and prefer to use a flat tow rated winch bumper. (Preferred over a baseplate or the Maximus 3 tow loops.) The only tow rated bumpers (vs those that are strong enough but not rated) I have found are the LOD and the Rock Hard.
So, am I lucky enough to posted this on...
If you are coming from rte 24 on Homestake Rd, 703, you come the high clearance off road Holy Cross City Road, 759 on the right. It is one way going up to the junction of 727, after which 759 is two way
When you return from Holy Cross City on 759 you go down to 727, then you have to take 727...
The above is specific to LED replacement bulbs installed in the OEM halogen headlights, although may also apply to foglights.
I am asking about LEDs in the DRLs, turn signals, tail lights, and brake lights.
So I am planning to replace my exterior (non headlight) incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs in the OEM incandescent housings. I plan to use a programmer to set the light settings to LED.
I would like to know what LED replacement bulbs folks here have used with good results with respect to:
1.)...
Is there a good dealer for service thread? I searched here and on the JL forum as well and couldn't find one.
That being said, we are looking for a dealer with a good service department in the Lancaster to Lebanon, PA, area, preferably one good with the eco diesel.
We don't have any issues yet...
I asked Smittybilt the following question via their web site contact page:
And I just last night got the following answer:
With the above information I understand why some folks would choose to flat tow their Jeep using the recovery points on a Smittybilt bumper. I can also understand why...
Some time ago I also read on the Smittybilt web site that one of their bumpers was flat tow rated. I can no longer find that reference, but their web site leaves something to be desired. That's why I was posting the question here
Thanks for your reply, but I guess I should have been more specific in how I phrased my question.
There are bumpers that are designed to be flat towed using the bumper's recovery points as attachment points for the tow bar.
I have seen photo examples of Jeep JLs and JTs being flat towed by...
I have found conflicting information on this subject with my searches and on the Smittybilt web site, so here goes...
Can you flat tow with either the Smittybilt XRC or SRC bumpers?
I ask because there are locally some new Smittybilt bumpers on the Facebook market near me. And the Rock Hard...
OK... So far two votes for Jscan, and one vote each or Alfaobd and ZAutomative.
Yeah, I didn't start this as a programmer thread, but here goes.
Why not ECRI? I kind of like the idea of a programmer that can be removed once you're done programming. I don't know of a programmer, other than...
I thought that would be the case, but there are so many threads on this subject with a lot of conflicting answers.
I did try a set of no name CANBuss compatible LED bulbs with integrated resistors in the tail lights. (They were part of an auction box lot, essentially free, so why not give them...
How do you make LED bulbs work in the non LED housings?
We have a 23 Ecodiesel Rubicon, bought off the lot, and did not come with the LED lighting package. I really dislike the factory halogen headlights, so I just ordered Diode Dynamics Elite headlight But that still leaves the rest of the non...
Thank you. That's exactly the information I was looking for.
I did see in the owners manual there was, specific to the ecodiesel, no mention of towing limits that varied with towing vs non towing package. Towing limits did vary with trim level (Sport, Willy's, Rubicon, etc).
Any differences in the cooling system?
My understanding is that the gasser with a towing package has the big alternator to drive the more powerful cooling fan, and that there is not an upgraded radiator for towing. Does this apply for the diesel?
Does the diesel have a different radiator...
We bought our 23 Rubicon Ecodiesel off the lot, so it was missing a few things we wanted including missing the factory tow package. And because we may tow in the future I thought I'd ask a few questions now. (Disclaimer: I didn't find my answers in search.)
In the gasser JTs there are...
I know this is an older thread, but I thought I'd chime in anyway.
We are driving cross country in our new 23 diesel Rubicon. We knew we'd need our first oil change before we made it home, so we opted to get our first Jeep Wave oil change and tire rotation done at the closest dealer which was...
Bear in mind the our JT is a diesel Rubicon. Your Jeep might be different, especially if a manual transmission. Sorry, no pics.
So, here's how I ran the camera wire:
1) From the mirror camera to the left and down to the dash behind the left A pillar grab handle.
2) Previously I removed the...
Here's where I powered my Wolfbox G930 mirror dashcam with the hardwire kit. (I have a 2023 Diesel Rubicon.)
Accessory power from fuse F52, Cigarette Lighter.
Continuous power from fuse F98, SW Bank.
Note the orientation of the fuse taps. This orientation puts the new fuses in parallel with...
