The cab really is just a JL. So, yeah, it’ll have drain plugs. That said, the seats probably don’t differ much from the JK, in which case I’d heavily recommend that you consider some Bartact seat covers if you want a pseudo “hosable” interior. Whatever you do, keep the hose off the dash. Weird...
The soft top does a fine job with containing hot or cold air. The compromises you have to make mostly hinge around the windows (brittle in cold weather, easily scratched, etc) and wind noise.
OR, the soft top is worth $605 and they’re giving you a bargain if you don’t make them package the extra top and hardware? Consider that when you upgrade from standard to premium, you reuse most of the same frame and hardware, just replacing the material...with a dual top group you use all of it...
Building out a Sport S: Anti Spin rear diff, 7” screen, cold wx, convenience package, tow, bed liner, active safety, bed rail system, aux switch, tan interior, mud mats. Comes in at $44k exactly.
Building a Rubicon: tow, aux switch, mud tires, bedliner, mud mats. $46,230.
I was forced to add...
You said that it should come with those features or it should be cheaper. That implies an assumption of an obligation. I mean, I could say that I think it’s a joke that a comparable Tacoma starts at $36k and it has a fixed roof, doors and windshield and doesn’t even come with floor mats. I...
Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. Sales-people rarely put in the effort to keep up with product rumors and reviews...but they put A LOT of effort into maximizing sales and profits. The dealers can not put in ANY orders before April 4, which is just the launch edition. Sometime after that (April...
His point then, is incorrect. Or rather, his assumption that Jeep is obligated to provide those options or lower the price. Nobody is paying for them and not receiving them. If someone wants power windows and locks and a premium top and whatever else, then they are welcome to pay the price for...
This article gives most option prices. Grab your calculators for those that differ from the JL

At this point, the dealer will BENEFIT from having the extra Gladiator on their lot. My dealer has already said they’d happily order more than one truck for me if I decide to change color or something...
The estimates don’t really seem to account for options pricing. A Rubicon with automatic, painted hard top, other “media features” priced at $56k sounds good, but would definitely equate to a sub-$40k Sport model.
We’ve had a KJ, TJ, JK and 3 JKU’s. After trading my 14 JKU for a Gladiator, will spend a few months saving and get my wife a JK, most likely. She traded off her 13 JKU for a minivan a couple years ago, but has finally seen the “wisdom” of becoming a 3 vehicle family.
