It would be. Gassers go 4.88 due to the lesser torque and it being a Lil higher on the curve. But even then, most don't need the research until ur up in elevation. I'm running 37s on my gasser with no research, at sea level, and extra weight in rear due to upper Decker and winch. I do just fine...
Quadratec has a set of aluminum bumpers, but I think they're full width only. Not too bad looking, but to each their own. I know there's 1 or 2 other companies with aluminum bumpers as well, but can't remember who.
All states REQUIRE "that stuff" by Federal Law. Tampering or Removal of "that stuff" is a felony punishable by $10k+ fine and prison time...... if caught.
I'm assuming so, but is yet to be released. If available, and cost is similar to the JL version, I would be most interested. Especially since rep said it is a quieter ride than OE soft top, though I'm sure still not as quiet as hard top. The material looked and felt quite durable.
I was informed it does not fold all the way back. But the rear window panel is removable. Only front half folds back. At lays almost flat, making it more aerodynamic friendly than anything else I seen. It also doesn't have that hump in the rear, flat across the top like hard top.
Mirrors are great, pretty sturdy and hold well at hey speed. Take a Lil getting used to due to convex lens, but that also allows u to see most, if not all, of ur side blind spots. Unfortunately, I don't have the soft doors, ? so I'm useless there.
So, I was at Jeep and Truck Fest today and saw an aftermarket full soft top option option other than Best Top. The Rugged Ridge rep said it was by Rampage, a subsidiary of theirs. He gave some good info, showed how it folded back, and gained my interest. Problem is, when researching tonight, I...
With rubber removed... tehe... wonder if that'll help pull some of the heat out of the engine bay and allow slight decrease in under hood temps? Sure it might increase IATs, but that could also be offset by intercooler.
It kinda depends on rim width. Can't remember having checked, but with oe wheel, I set tire size to 35.5 for speedo correction. When I get home in a few hrs, I'll double check. Supposed to measure at 36.5-36.7 on 9.5 or 10 in width wheel. Highly recommend 3.5" lift minimum for any 37 tho on...
Agreed. After all aftermarket upgrades, u will have overpaid for everything that comes on a Rubicon or Mojave. As mentioned earlier, lockers aren't really needed much unless u rock crawl hard.
Luckily my dad used to sell cars in his younger yrs, so he knows alot. Helped me strike pretty good deals on last car and this one. Credit score helped alot too, almost had them bowing at my feet lol. He also knows several salesmen and mangers that are still around from when he sold cars.
Agree 100%, from Florida and having been in sugar sand, and muddy swamp water up to my windows. A good set of MTs do more than lockers. Also knowing how to approach and depart from such situations. Only time I got stuck was in muck, looked like quick sand. Anyone would've been stuck.
Only...
Would make for a good break in too. Leased mine at planet jeep down there. I'll probably check with them first and see what they can do before trying gupton.
