Same, needed the max tow for my camper and don’t want to change anything that will mess with that. With that said, I did read that going 285 70 on stock wheels wouldn’t change much….so that’s what I did. Sadly, it’s probably all I can do.

I went with the CURT 51110 Brake Controller and CURT 51527 Wiring Harness. Only holes were for the mounting bracket as you mentioned. Super easy to install and it all came in under $50.
