  1. Ordering Sport S with Max Tow

I was planning to keep my 2023 mojave mostly stock too... and it was lifted and on 37s by 1,100 miles. Couldn't pass on 4 brand new 37s for $412 delivered to the house, but I'm so glad I did. The thing still drags the belly often on rocky trails. I couldn't imagine wheeling at stock height with...
  2. Shocks for 3.5 inch lift kit

I believe their shocks are listed for 3-4.5" of lift which should work well with your lift. Personally I would measure the bumpstops and run the longest shock that will fit at full compression but that's not necessary if you stay in their recommended range.
  3. Airing up tires on a cold day...

We only insure 2, the wife dailies her JLUR on 39s. The JT is used for everything from home depot runs to dump runs to wheeling but sits in the driveway all week as I drive a company car. Nitrogen would be more trouble than is worth for us and the company car tires are small enough that the...
  4. Airing up tires on a cold day...

Fine for a street Jeep but not really convenient when you air down frequently. Sure I could carry a small nitrogen tank and regulator, but I'll stick with the regular air pumped by my compressor that takes up little space and never runs out of air.
  5. Decided to supercharge over a swappina to a Hemi

And it's the speed over distance that really adds up. Driving 85 in a 65 on your 15 minute commute might save you a couple minutes... until you get pulled over. The time and money from that 1 ticket would take years of not getting caught just to break even. Even if I catch an officer on a bad...
  6. Decided to supercharge over a swappina to a Hemi

I could care less about getting passed. Out west, everything is a long drive compared to the east coast. If the speed limit is 75mph and the highway patrol won't even budge if I'm cruising 85mph I'm setting the cruise at 85 every time. Our AZ property is 600 miles away and we make that drive ~10...
  7. 35×9.5r17 Mongrel Tires Too Narrow for Stock Wheels?

They are rated for a 7" wide wheel, but the 20 psi and 1140 pounds ratings won't play well on your 5k pound truck even if you never tow or haul anything.
  8. Lift Kit Size for My Wheels

But you won't be going to 37-40s without more lift. If that was your goal out the gate you would have wasted a bunch of time.
  9. 2022 AEV Gladiator Rubicon build

Can't wait to see the install and read your impressions on both the install and the new found power. Definitely leaning this direction now that our GPEC5 support is available. Especially reading the other thread where the guy hit 230k miles before his v6 had cam issues. Beats the hell out of the...
  10. Lift Kit Size for My Wheels

We actually put the 3.5" springs on the wife's JLUR with the factory 35s about a month before the 39s came in. Certainly didn't look ridiculous.
  11. Lift Kit Size for My Wheels

If the plan is eventually 37-40" tires I'd just do the 3" lift now. It's more than your need for 35s, but doesn't look bad.
  12. Decided to supercharge over a swappina to a Hemi

It's funny how everyone says the 11.3-1 compression ratio is too high for boost running 6-8 psi peak. Meanwhile the Mazda 6 2.5t is 13-1 compression and runs up to 20 psi from the turbo stock and guys are turning them up to 26psi and they hold together. The 3.6L needs all of 6k+ rpm just to make...
  13. AEV Spacer lift

The rubicon shocks are unimpressive as well. And they are short travel compared to almost anything aftermarket. With the 2" bump stop extensions that come in the AEV kit you can fit metalcloak rocksport reds with 12"+ of travel. The stock shocks are less than 8" stroke if I remember right.
  14. AEV Spacer lift

The willys shocks are junk. The AEV kit was great on the mojave and those shocks are worth retaining via shock extensions. For your situation I'd install the kit without the shock extensions and then replace the stock shocks with 1-3" lift shocks. You'll gain significant suspension travel going...
  15. Locking Hubs video

Seems like a good option for those with no FAD, but the rest of us already have the axle disconnected in 2wd. Adding more potential failure points and making it so I have to get out and lock in the hubs every time I need 4wd even if it's only a 20' section where water is crossing what amounts to...
  16. Recall I said "those lockers in my wife's JLU will NEVER...........

It's closer to 1-1.5" of lift. And the front bump stop towers are longer so you can't lower it without cutting and fabricating new towers or it will ride on the bumpstops. Our 2022 started or as an xr before they started calling it the extreme 35" tire package. If she doesn't want the extra...
  17. Decided to supercharge over a swappina to a Hemi

This is driving county roads at 55-65. Fortunately I drive a company car for work so I don't really care but even if I hyper-miled this thing it wouldn't touch 16 mpg.
  18. Decided to supercharge over a swappina to a Hemi

Even at 65-70 with 3.5" of lift and 37s it's 14mpg at best. I realize my speed doesn't help, but out here you get pased by semis if you're under 75mph and in AZ half of them are rolling 80+. The lift and tires don't help either. I still argue that more adequate power for my harder than most use...
  19. Decided to supercharge over a swappina to a Hemi

12 isn't half the typical mpg even with a bone stock 3.6L JT if you actually drive freeway speeds. Might average 18-19 if you aren't remotely aggressive. Lift and big tires like many of us and it's 13-14 on the freeway at 80mph anyway so why not have 200 more hp.
  20. Decided to supercharge over a swappina to a Hemi

The best part of going this route is they use the same vortec V3 for their 5.7L kits. You get 5.7L hp+ for $7k and if the 3.6L grenades it can be bolted on to the 5.7L when I swap out the 3.6L. Win win.
