I drove it 860 miles. Another 570 miles tomorrow to be there for the birth of my 2nd granddaughter. My average mileage since new is 27.4mpg. I have just under 2k miles on her.
I found a way to maintain pressure on the rear ceiling panels for a few days to allow the glue to fully cure. I put a 1x2 across the top of the rear of the roll cage. Under the rear of the panels, I stuffed pillows between the 1x2 and the insulation panels to keep upward pressure on the panels...
It doesn't, but the wrap around glasses help with the wind. I wear yellow tint safety glasses at work. It cuts a little glare from lights and helps me a little seeing into shadows over clear glasses.
I had a minor setback on my headliners. The rear of the rear panels came loose from the roof. I removed the velcro tape, sprayed in lots of Gorilla Glue, and held the panels in place for 20 minutes until the glue cured somewhat. 24 hours later and so far so good. I left pillows stuffed...
I debadged everything except the JEEP on the tailgate and the Ecodiesel badge. I'm not anti decal, but i usually want it to have a purpose like glare reduction on the hood.
Sometimes an exact match is not possible. If they are very close but not matching, they can clash. A little difference between the seats and the floor may be a good thing. Look at camo patterns. Many have 2 tones of tan, green, black, and white. I usually try to avoid browns and grays, but...
I like the bamboo. If the Jeep weren't gray I was considering a brown burlap roof.
I bought some 14x20 travel pillows and black pillow cases. I stuff them in between the back roll cage and the roof corners. They are invisible, help cut noise, and passengers can use them to sleep on the road.
944 miles in 7 weeks and no issues. Dealership gave me a free tank of fuel, so I have only bought about 8 gallons of fuel myself. (They bribed me for a good survey review with a 2nd tank of fuel.)
I used Krylon Fusion in satin. It's made for plastics. I precleaned with alcohol before painting. So far, so good. I made insulation panels to help with heat and noise.
Also , who is going to steal a painted roof panel?
