  1. WOW - What an IMPACT !

I think they are all pretty close in reliability. Some companies seem to be stronger in certain areas, like Makita used to have the edge in cordless wood working tools in terms of features and specialty items, Milwaukee had more automotive stuff. Dewalt was cheaper but everything was just a tad...
  2. WOW - What an IMPACT !

I have that same 1/2drive mid torque 18v and I love it. Besides the 18v hepa vac it’s my favorite tool. The mid torque is powerful for its size. For me it has all the power I really need as I’m not typically working on rust buckets or 18wheelers. I got it maybe 2 years ago? Iv only had to break...
  3. New Doors by Mammoth Products

Looks like a cool concept. Might be tricky to get off the ground and make a product that keeps water out or holds up to highway speeds. In order to make it seal they might need to figure out how to put a bolt rope in the fabric on both sides and have it cleanly furl.
  4. How bad is a MT to AT swap?

Now is a great time to learn… let him beat the crap out of the clutch before jeep replaces it with the recall. Edit: but seriously I’m waiting till the give me a date and I’ll be teaching a friends kids.
  5. Guess I’ll DIY my own rear bumper too

What I found was a good hidden hitch was a YJ spring mount license plate holder from the junkyard. I designed the bumper exactly as wide as the plate and used motorcycle lights. When the hitch was in because it was a drop hitch you could still read the plate.
  6. Trailer tire longevity?

As others have posted a quality spare is ideal. Multiple tire failures at once is more indicative of hitting a roadway hazard than anything else, even if tires are in bad shape. I have had to deal with a ton of people with poorly maintained trailers and vehicles hitting public roadways and...
  7. Take a guess!

Full wrap that looks like twill
  8. Hardtop cracked at bolt

It’s probably just a crack in the gellcoat or paint I can’t imagine it would go all the way thru. Usually cracks occur in the topcoat on fiberglass if it’s sprayed on to thick. I wouldn’t be worried at all, but if the jeep is under warranty I would make them fix it just because. if there is an...
  9. Come-Alongs?

I got by without a winch for years on some of the best trails in New England. I didn’t want to add the weight on my light coil overs. Always went on tough trails with a club and used everyone else’s winches.? Had a much smaller come along that I used to pivot the rear end or assist in deadwood...
  10. Lockers vs Eaton Truetrac

Yea 100% sure. And in fairness one of the the trucks that had constant issues was heavily abused and went through numerous shafts and even housings before a truss was added.
  11. Lockers vs Eaton Truetrac

From what I have seen if your paying the $$$$ for install I would go with a real selectable locker. I used to do a ton of off-roading with multiple clubs but my primary club had alot of jeep, ford and yota builds. A few friends with Tru-tracs would have issues with them failing to lock up. It...
  12. BRP Two 10in Sub Box Combo

the seat does rest slightly on my FoxBox
  13. BRP Two 10in Sub Box Combo

I wanted to do the gatley box but the cost and the need to use a backseat spacer lift with the fact I have to use a car seat, I didn’t want to do it. Even though lifting the rear seat probably wouldn’t matter at all. Ended up with the FOXBOX running my decade old JL 10” (10w1v2) sub 4ohm at...
  14. Choosing a boat that can safely be towed

I would suspect a boat trailer like that will have hydraulic surge brakes and might be incompatible with electric brakes. Electric conversion wouldn’t be very expensive if you do it yourself, but going in saltwater you might need to repair the brakes annually. Of course any boat trailer that...
  15. Choosing a boat that can safely be towed

I tow a 3000# boat on a double axle trailer that probably weighs 1200#. I have electric brakes (trailer does not get wet as boat is gantry launched.) I keep it at 50mph or less on the highway as I get a ton of windage it’s 26ft long and close to 11ft high. Truck tows decently not a lot of power...
  16. New QRC Rear Bumper for Jeep Gladiator JT

Designer probably figured that someone with a rubicon was unlikely to buy a wrap around bumper as they have the wings already… for a sport owner that’s an extra $60ish to add the second hook.
  17. Fox Acoustics Sub Box

My amp is under the passenger seat. So I ran the power cable down along then frame then up under the plug under the passenger seat. Did a kicker LOC with a 12v on included. I just chose to wire my amp to the factory aux switch instead.
  18. Fox Acoustics Sub Box

Mine is here, just have not gotten time to install. No mounting hardware or instructions that I can find anywhere. Does it just nest in place and the seats hold it down?
  19. Are You Thinking About Cashing in on an EV

I wish the credit applied to a Moke…I would love a vehicle I could drive around locally, park anywhere, not care that it had 2” of sand in the seats. Let any of my family borrow it and it’s so ugly I wouldn’t be able to tell if it got hit while parked at the cove.
