After the long drive today I can say that the left crowning road either straightened it out or pulled slightly left depending on how steep the crown was.
When I got home today I installed the adjustable track bar to center the axle. I also loosened and re-torqued the front UCA and LCA. I can't...
That is the going theory. I followed the directions and torqued them in the air. My alignment is all out of whack. I'll be loosening and retorqueing all of the control arms today in effort to correct the problem.
Got it. Thanks, that helps me better understand the numbers.
Not yet. So far I’ve only driven the 5 miles home from the shop. I’ll be driving 50 miles round trip for work tomorrow on various types of roads so I’ll be able to get a much better feel for it then.
LOL, I read a ton about tires before deciding on them and used my previous experience with tires wider than the fenders to steer me this way (10.5 vs 12.5). I've run Kendas on bikes before, but never a truck. So, we shall see how they last and how they perform. Thanks!
I had read that actually. I don't believe it is a result of the lift though as it was doing this before the lift. Glad to hear your lift is working great! Always nice to hear about other satisfied jeepers!
When deciding on my lift I had to weigh all the pros and cons. I read through so many...
Ya know, I've been thinking about this because while I replaced the lowers, I did not loosen the uppers. Additionally, per directions I torqued them down while lifted rather than under the weight of the vehicle. Of course, I'm not sure how I'll be able to torque it in the driveway without it...
I figured I would need the adjustable track bar, but I wanted to wait and see how it was after the lift. Subsequently I have already ordered that and it will be here tomorrow. Easy fix there.
I had a feeling the control arms had something to do with it. Can you tell by the numbers whether it is...
I just got back from an alignment shop and I am very confused. They didn't really help the confusion.
I've got a Sport S with Max Tow and last week I installed the Mopar 2" lift with a 3/4 spacer in the front. I also added a Fox steering stabilizer. I couldn't get the tires mounted right away...
Mopar 2", 3/4 spacer, and 35s measured 21.5" to the front of the metal seam under the body and 22" at the rear. Just installed the other day so it will probably settle a little. If I add a steel bumper and winch I'll probably up it to a 1.5" spacer to keep it relatively level.
Finally got everything installed.
Mopar 2" lift with 3/4" spacer for the front with 35s.
Ride is great and I love the look. I can't wait to get her off road again to see how she does now!
I went with the Mopar lift and added a 3/4” spacer to the front as well. I held off on the track bars so I could see how the truck would react to the lift. In the end the front is shifted by about 3/4” so I bought the front adjustable track bar to fix that. The rear was dead on so no need for...
How much are you looking to spend? You can quite literally go from hundreds to thousands quite quickly.
Are you looking for a spacer lift or an actual spring lift?
As you can begin to see, there are lots of questions to answer first before narrowing down a lift for you.
I hunted down a max tow specifically so I'm going to be much more inclined to lead you in that direction. However, how is the Sport S optioned out? How is the overland optioned out? Then out of those, which of them are MUST HAVEs for you?
Like the others, I'd love to hear an update. I'm debating between the Rubicon Express lift and the Mopar lift with a spacer to level it. The biggest difference seems to be the springs themselves and the adjustable track bar that comes with the RE lift, but I'd buy anyway for the Mopar.
I'm...
