Yeah, best thing I can compare it to would be if you've ever camped in a pop up camper with real dense window screens. You can see through it, and it doesn't necessarily cast a full shadow, but you certainly know it's there.
That said, I'm glad I went for it, and it's really not much of a pain...
I have something similar in mine, just not that brand. Mine is Alien brand, but it looks to attach the same way. Bungie cords around the roll bars. No storage add on for mine.
You definitely can still use the freedom panels with it, you just have to manuever around the shade to do all the...
I have one on mine currently. I don't typically listen to FM radio, but I've used it enough to get a feel for the reception on the stubby. I live in Akron, Ohio which is about 35 miles from Clevelend. I can pick up the major stations from Cleveland, with a bit of static at times, and all my...
Just got mine back today from the warranty corrosion repair. Took over a month just for Stallantis to approve it and set me up for a drop off date. After that, the dealer had it for 18 days. Apparently body panel availability is an issue at the moment, or so I was told. Mine got all 4 doors...
If you're within the corrosion warranty period still, Jeep may approve repairs under that. Mine is currently in a local dealer body shop for the same issue, and a little bit on the bottom of the doors.
Jeep ended up approving replacement of all 4 doors, hinges, hood and tailgate for mine. Just...
I'm in the middle of dealing with corrosion warranty on mine, and jeepcares has been totally useless. In the midst of waiting for over a month for warranty approval, jeepcares closed my case because I hadn't left the truck at the dealership for that time period. I guess they expected me to just...
Jeep will likely cover it at your mileage under warranty, I would think. I went the route of stuffing some 7mm vacuum tubing in the gap, instead of dealing with someone tearing into the window frame. There have been mixed results with warranty fixes.
The tubing fix eliminated my leak...
Cool, glad you could get it figured out.
As far as normal, I think it is. I've listened to other JTs and JLs when I see them out and about, and noticed they make the same noise. I've stopped worrying about it at this point until it gets louder or changes in some other way.
Mine makes the noise any time I move the wheel. Goes away after a few seconds of not touching the steering wheel when it's back to center. Starts again as soon as I touch the wheel.
Possibly the wheel was turned some when you were out scrubbing the bug guts off, and was not when you tested in...
Mine makes the same noise. It's the electric power steering pump. Through some searching on here, I found others noting the same noise. If you let the truck sit, it should stop, and you can trigger it again by bumping the steering wheel.
I can't find the thread right now, but someone brought it...
These are far from the cheapest solution, but I put them in my 22 mojave because I didn't want to mess with cutting up the soundbar either. They're a pretty good improvement over the stock alpine stuff, and less than a 5 minute install.
Kicker KS Plug & Play Speaker Pods Upgrade | '18-'23 JL/...
Just throwing my 2 cents in for anybody else with this issue... I had the exact same noise on my 22 Mojave, and could replicate it by rocking the rear end of the truck up and down by pushing on the bumper. Ended up being the left side rear sway bar bushing causing the noise. If you hold the sway...
That would be the better way to do it probably. That didn't occur to me when I was doing mine, just was trying to avoid having to clean adhesive off from the already installed foam tape.
I ended up adding an extra strip of foam tape to mine, just FYI. The stuff they send didn't expand enough to fill the gap. If you get something that's slightly thicker than the remaining gap, you really don't even need adhesive on it. It'll stay in there just from the pressure.
Yeah, I got the same feeling about the knee speakers afterwards. Now that I've replaced the rest, I'm almost bothered enough to tackle those ones, just to finish the job. We'll see how I feel about it in a few weeks.
Coming back to update as promised. I installed the TrailSeven pods with the kicker speakers. Definitely a marked improvement. The sound is much more clear in the mids and highs from the soundbar now, same as the improvement I noticed from changing out the dash corners with the infinity speakers...
Will definitely update. I went back and forth for several weeks on options for the sound bar. Finally decided I didn't want to deal with the options that involve cutting into the plastic, so this seemed like the best choice. Mixed reviews out there on it, but I get the feeling they'll be just...
