It is easy to open the stock hood vents up. I just used a dremel and cut the bottoms off of the vents. I did leave a small area intact to keep rain from just falling onto the air filter and computer area. That may change for stock engine and filter configurations. Also just cut the insulation...
I keep looking at them, just can not pull the trigger as for daily driving I really do not have an issue, although everyone that drives it says it takes a lot of brake push to get stopped, probably me just used to it, lol. They seem to be the best bolt on and they use, I believe Tundra brake...
I have the AMW 5.7 in my Gladiator Rubicon, 2020. I am running 38's, 4.88 gears and I can get 15 MPG's at 80 MPH, just highway cruising. Got that just the other weekend from KS. to TX. and back. Running the stock axles with RCV's in front and chromoly axles in the rear. Brake push thru is an...
Update time!
I just got done lifting each front tire, leaving opposite tire on the ground. Both sides spin independently. Shifted transfer case into neutral, shaft would spin with both front tires on the ground, as expected. Shifted transfer case back into 2 hi with both front tires on the...
I Just got back from driving around and I shifted the transfer case into both 4 hi and 4 lo. Locked and unlocked the differentials. Checked the front driveshaft when I got home, still unable to rotate the front driveshaft. I had my Yukon ring and pinions replaced with Dana Spicer gears a few...
Two car garage used Next Venture Motorsports 392 skid on his. Ozark Overland Adventures used Asfir for his 5.7.
I used Asfir's 3.6 skid plate on my 5.7 and modified the engine mount straps. Not sure if the others needed to do anything on their installs.
I can not remember. Does the front drive shaft freely turn if parked in 2 hi. I thought it did, but I was checking things over after the oil change and my front driveshaft will not turn. Pulled the fad to make sure the collar was in the ring, which it was and it was in the disconnect state...
Only way to learn is to try, ask questions and conquer. The more you know about how these items are installed and adjusted, the more confidence you will have going offroad. Do not give up!
Glad to see you have it back now and had a good maiden trip back home. I had my 5.7 done by Exodus. Picked it up in the evening and drove it back to Kansas, 8-9 hours with no issues. Now go out and enjoy it, and keeps us updated.
Just been reading the adventure. Awesome that you figured out how to do the hemi. Still glad I had AMW do my 5.7, I just do not have the will to deal with those issues of getting it all to work nice together. I may have to try that resonator that ltdodge used. After 4 years it would be nice to...
I too am running the X/T 38" and using a still good used 37" M/T as a spare underneath, as noted it does fit, but tight.
I have had them for over a year and they did really well in the 3 to 8 inches of snow we got last year, much better than the M/T's I had on the previous years.
They did great...
I can not give you the reasons, but my understanding is, no.
The dodge and GM systems use different language to talk and you would need something that converts each ones program to the other for the systems to work.
I swapped a 6.0 LS with a 6L80E transmission into my 2007 JKU and it had a box...
Has anyone come up with a good location to mount the rear camera if you do not have a rack or topper to mount it to, so as to keep it higher?
I saw one that cut a hole in the tailgate handle's cover. Not a bad idea but want to keep it as clean as possible.
Bumper mount is ok, but will that be...
