To me, it feels like they are just targeting collectors and those that will buy anything Hennessey. I'm surprised they even messed with it considering an update is not that far off, but I guess it was one of those "We can, so we did."
I'm a Ford guy and a fan of Hennessey, so I was pretty excited to see this. I went from "Oh hell yeah" to "Meh, pass" in about 30 seconds. It doesn't seem like you are getting 30k worth of stuff.
That's the problem, even a 78k MSRP would ensure a single model year run. For that price you could get a optioned out Ram 3500 Limited dually with a Cummins. For ~15k less you could get a optioned out Ram 1500 Limited. FCA charging 30-40k above competition would be astronomically stupid.
If I was going to buy a JT for 100k. I'd buy a Sport S, do an LS swap, Dana 60s, custom lift to fit 40" tires for off-road, air bags for on-road, AEV all the way around. Then spend the remaining 15-20k on hookers, Scotch, and craps.
I'm a diesel guy, and will only buy a Gladiator when the diesel option becomes available. I can't imagine FCA charging more than the 3-4k premium for the diesel option. I don't know the pricing for previous diesel offering with FCA with the Ram and Grand Cherokee. However, there is...
That would be a good way for FCA to commit brand suicide. 90-100k would make a diesel Gladiator one of if not the most expensive vehicle FCA produces. Now, I can see a ~90k price tag for a completely Moparized Hellcat Gladiator, but there is no way they will charge a 30-40k premium for a...
Mine is going to sound extremely dumb, but I'm on the fence with premium audio. I have no idea how the premium audio will be for the Jeep, but I've had several vehicles and currently have two with premium audio. They have all been pretty underwhelming. Plus, I live down dirt roads about 5...
Jeep will have to have somewhat competitive pricing. They get away with more with the Wrangler, because there aren't a lot of vehicles out there that can compete with it. However, there is quite a bit of competition in the mid-size market. I see low 30s for the Sport and low 40's for the...
I wonder if that is the diesel from the other thread? Same camo, same fender flairs, black wheels. I know that wouldn't be hard to do on any other vehicle, but it would seem silly to me for them to torture test a model that is already in production.
AH, thanks you're correct. I just looked at the max tow, I assumed the other would be class II from several people talking about that hitch on here. That's what I get for assuming.
I know how that goes, luckily I posted right after I read the original post.
Something else to consider OP, is that your M/T, from what I understand, will only come with a class II hitch. If your trailer is properly loaded you will need a class IV for the ~800# hitch weight. You may also need...
Unfortunately there aren't a lot of options to for towing with an M/T. To stay safer and legal you would have to step up to a 2500/3500 cummins Dodge to handle the load you are talking about.
I lean towards being a Ford guy, and always wanted a Raptor. The thing that has kept me from ever buying one are their on road capabilities. The one I like the most, super cab with its #6,000 towing and #1,000 cargo, is beat by every mid size truck sold in the US. The crew cab isn't a lot...
This is where I am at as well. If there is still no word from FCA on the diesel by the time the redesigned Ranger is announced I'll very possibly go with the Ford. If the 2.7l EB rumors make it to market, then the Ranger would be a pretty amazing truck. In the F150, some year models got up to...
