I wash the Gladiator, the Fiesta, the GT4, the Cayman T, my dad's RAM, and my mom's Odyssey.
The Gladiator is a product test vehicle for detailing. Currently has some AMMO NYC products on it. Next time I decon the truck, I'll move to 303 Graphene.
I love detailing cars and testing products...
Oil discussions are always fun. I remember the extended service intervals introduced by BMW in the early 2000s with synthetic oil being factory fill and the debate still rages 20 years later. In that world, everyone thought it was crazy and now virtually every manufacturer has extended intervals...
That's how it works. "I watched a video on it, I'm relevant".
I have the 5000 pound QJ that I use for cars. Not sketchy at all. I've left the Fiesta up for a week and the GT4 up for days. I use it several times per month for tire rotation, detailing, oil changes, etc.
Sorry to hear this OP.
Any chance at all the first dealership drained the oil in preparation for doing something with it?
What's the delta between the min/max marks on the dip stick? A quarter of a quart? I wouldn't think it would have to be multiple quarts down. Clearly not down enough to...
Good summary. Other than the above, I completely agree. Subjective evaluation is not equal to throwing darts in my opinion. Subjective yes, but still a decision made by someone through their lense and for their reasons.
I do agree with you as we have walked through this discussion and it's...
Understood on... Reasons.
Let's take Blind Spot Monitoring. Great example because I had this in our Macan and now the Gladiator. The distance/spacing of the vehicle in the Blind Spot to trigger the visual alert is very different between the two vehicles. Porsche alerted with a vehicle much...
Example? And I'm not talking about Elon Musk Tesla quirks and Easter Egg type things like Space Balls or 007 mode. Though even these things are done with intention behind them.
When I was a kid, I remember the headlight switch for vehicles was in the floorboard. You clicked it with your left...
I can't imagine any decisions are made based on guessing. Manufacturers do consumer studies on everything. Focus groups to test, provide feedback, evaluate, and then go with consensus. Then they continue to solicit feedback, as you say, to modify and adapt.
It may feel like they are throwing...
The adaptive cruise has made finding a solution challenging. I hate the suction cups as well, plus my windshield is tinted, and I don't want something that potentially could pull up the tint. I don't know if it would, but would rather not risk it.
Thanks for responding and I hope the new mount...
I also use Waze through Android Auto. And with Google Maps, you can download a geographic area locally to your device, so if you lose data connection on the phone you still have mapping available.
The advantage to the built-in mapping and navigation platform is you don't have to worry about...
I have a Ford Fiesta ST that's force induction EcoBoost. It's such a great car, but I much prefer naturally aspirated power. It was ultimately why I didn't get a Raptor and also why I wouldn't get a Bronco. I understand the value of turbos, ability to tune, more power, more torque, etc... I just...
Which mount did you use for your radar detector? I just installed a Blendmount in the GT4 and Fiesta ST, but they apparently don't have one for the Gladiator with all the sensors around the rear view mirror.
Trying to decide how to mount up the Uniden R7 without suction cups to the windshield.
Tesla did this in 2014. They opened one swap location and could change a battery in 3 minutes. They had every intention of opening more but found very few customers opted to do it. Preferring to use the Supercharger network as it came online.
There is a Chinese company, Nio, that says they...
It will do exactly what you want it to do and will do it well. And when you're ready to go off-road, it will do that too.
Use it. Drive it. And if you truly find you are missing something that you absolutely have to have, you can add it. Either OEM or aftermarket.
I assume you loved it when...
