That makes sense--I have 4 wires on the driver side, on 3 on the passenger side. Frustrating, since they ran the 4th wire on the passenger's side all the way to the front of the vehicle... but didn't want to put in the extra 16".
Just installed this set of lights on my Gladiator today: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085XZ69T5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They come with anti-flicker devices, but I didn't install them--I figured I could use JScan, and I test them before installing and they seem to...
Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the fender bracket that's towards the back of the fender? It's riveted on and definitely isn't attached, but not finding anything on the numbers. Accidentally broke off one of the mounts for the clips that connect the fender to the body. Oops.
No, so in the two pictures I've posted above, you'll see that one side of the plug has 4 wires, the other has 3 wires. The side with three wires goes down and connects to the headlight.
Since I need that 4th wire to go all the way to the headlight, rather than running a separate wire back to...
I was able to get someone off eBay to create the harness with the 4th wire for DRLs: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Harness-For-Jeep-Headlight/233894100214?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
So, my 2021 3.0L already has the DRL/halo wire on the driver's side headlight, it's just not utilized.
It looks like that part is backordered everywhere, so I was able to locate someone on eBay to build out a second harness for me to keep everything stock looking.
Was the truck in Park during all of this? I know you usually have to switch it back from Drive to Park for it to get moving again.
This seems like an odd issue if it really does require having to unplug the door...
Is it this one: https://www.dieselfiltersonline.com/ram-category/ram-3-0-liter-eco-diesel-filter-and-parts/ram-3-0-liter-eco-diesel-oil-filters/68507598aa-mopar-oem-oil-filter-2020-ram-1500-jeep-wrangler-jl-with-3-0l-diesel.html?find=2020-ram-ram-1500-oil-filter-3-0l-eco-diesel-n-a-527829
I'd definitely keep pushing the issue--I don't think you'll want records of someone else's vehicle tied to your vehicle. Not sure if @JeepCares can help here?
OK, so my guess is the brown/orange wire that goes into the connector is the DRL, since it's not coming out the other side. Black is obv. ground, white/orange and white/grey is lo and hi beams (not sure which one is which).
The part number on the outgoing wire (from that plug to the headlight)...
I wonder if the individual parts don't include the bracket? I think that kit is specifically for upgraded to LEDs on Sport bumpers
EDIT: kevman65 beat me to it :)
I'm assuming the fenders aren't similar to Sport and can have something like this swapped in: https://www.amazon.com/BUNKER-INDUST-Daytime-Sequential-Wrangler/dp/B07WDH7973/ref=sr_1_58?dchild=1&keywords=bunker+indust&qid=1612995001&sr=8-58
I was going to go with the Oculus lights, but I'm not really a fan of the style... the single bulb in the middle makes it look like creepy eyes... heh
I went with Bunker ones from Amazon--decent reviews, and the cheapest 9" I found. Hoping they aren't crap.
But to continue the discussion... I...
It looks like they just confirmed today:
"Your Question:
If I have a 2021 Gladiator, are you saying that the additional harness install isn’t required to run the DRL halos on the light?
Our Answer:
No wiring is required but you must reflash at a Jeep dealership or unlock with a product like...
