  1. Let’s talk about sunvisors…

My parents' JL did this recently. I took it apart to see if it was an easy fix, and it was the broken plastic thing. They are still under warranty, so got it fixed. Is there a link to the long term fix?
  2. Anyone know of a colorado dealer giving big discounts?

No. You may be able to find someone to take the Tread Lightly discount in the area, assuming it ever ended up available for JTs again. Alternatively, look for employer affiliate discounts. Absolute best I'm aware you'll be able to find is 1% under invoice. Otherwise, it's fly and buy for...
  3. Oil Catch Can - is it needed?

I'd be interested to see if there is a correlation between location (and the associated ambient weather conditions) and catch can "effectiveness". Hot, dry Arizona compared to hot wet Florida/SE Texas compared to cold dry Colorado and cold wet Maine for instance.
  4. I need advice to buy a right mattress

Hold your roll people... New member. Two posts, both new threads about, of all things, mattresses... On a Jeep forum... Why is anyone responding to this? This smells fishier than a tuna boat. Don't encourage spammers, or whatever this is...
  5. I want a topper for my JT Rubicon. LEER or A.R.E.?

Back when I got my ZR2 Bison, I did a deep dive comparison between topper manufacturers to compare primarily quality. This was ca. the end of 2019. Here's the writeup cut and pasted: "I recently made a pretty deep dive research project of this for my coming-soon Colorado. I internetted it hard...
  6. Harbor Freight winches?

Sorry if it sounds that way. My tool box, all 8 and a half or so feet of it, is right off the HF showroom floor. The comment was certainly not intended in that light. Just the voice of experience. If you're burned enough times, eventually you learn not to touch the stove. I don't know a thing...
  7. Anti gel - at what temp does everyone start adding

Only if you're on a road trip in winter headed somewhere much colder than where you started within a single tank of fuel. Like others have said, it's in the pump. Just buy from a reputable station that gets a reasonable amount of traffic and don't worry about it. Additives aren't necessary. I...
  8. Next gen Ford Ranger reveal November 24th

I'm excited about the crowd of new trucks coming out in the next year or so as well. Especially after the MY22 disappointment. Ford's offering would have to come with an over unity engine, magnetic levitation, a multigenerational warranty, and a blowjob machine for me to even consider a Ford...
  9. am I crazy?

What? How? Why? To what degree? So many questions...
  10. language

Misspellings don't amaze me all that much. The vast majority of people are dumb animals (biologically speaking, not necessarily social commentary), and it's to be expected. What amazes me is the... it's almost pride they take in that ignorance. There was a guy here recently who couldn't spell...
  11. FCA Affiliate is back...

What's above the cutoff section on p6? It mentions "USAA member certificate". Is that an FCA affiliate eligible organization?
  12. What are you working on?

Laying out the power section for a 100% passive phono preamplifier. No part that wasn't invented in principle later than ca. 1900.
  13. language

Knowledge about to be dropped. Strap in: When English dropped the "thee"s, "thou"s, and "thine"s a few hundred years ago in common parlance, and more recently in formal speech, the correct for the plural of "you" became "you". It's a bit confusing. "Did you mean me, or us?" To accommodate...
  14. Koons 6% Below Invoice on Gladiator Factory Orders

So if that comes back, the discount below invoice will be greater than 6%?
  15. Gupton Motors up to 8% below invoice

What I meant was (continuing from previous posts) it was 8% (7% if you bring your own financing), and then TL went away. That should make it 7% (6% if you bring your own financing), but there's another percentage point missing for it to drop to 6% (5% if you bring your own financing). What is...
  16. Gupton Motors up to 8% below invoice

    If it's 5/6, what's the other 1% after TL?
  17. 2022.5 Rumors?

The point is that those little generators don't have to run flat out, the are like industrial engines in that they run at a single speed at which they are designed to be most efficient. Mazda is supposed to be using a rotary as a range extender in their upcoming hybrid (I guess it would be a...
  18. FCA Group Navigation System.. Really

Olds. Suck at tech. Have disposable income. Easy marks.
  19. Topper Advice

One way to maybe temper your thinking on the subject is your use case percentages. MOST people who buy trucks only use them as trucks sub-1% of the time. These are people who would be far better off saving their buying bucks and fueling bucks on something different. This logic gets thrown around...
