When my dog got old and blind, and started having trouble getting into the truck (one of his favorite activities), I figured he'd done his best by me to that point, so I'd do my best to do what it took to get him the rest of the way. I just picked him up (50#). His happiness made it not an issue.
I'll be ordering with the spray in liner to protect the metal, then using some industrial/agricultural conveyor belt material to make a mat so it's easier on soft cargo/my knees. The material is the same rubber as tires, 3/8" thick, and fabric reinforced X2 layers. I've seen it used as a work...
No. Zero reason save personal insecurity.
Don't mess with a mother and her cubs at all. Individual bears are easy to scare away. I've chased even big male bears off just by waving my arms and yelling. Don't leave smellables accessible. Bears don't like loud noises, or anything that might put up...
Zombie thread. Didn't see an answer to the OP question I came looking for.
Disconnected, at full articulation, aired up or down, lock to lock, on rock-stock Rubicon suspension without spacers, level, or lift as Stellantis birthed her, do 35" tires make contact anywhere?
On my current truck, I drilled out the rivets and replaced them with rivnuts and screws. 9 screws, and the box is out for more space in the bed. It's like having a pair of small, weather tight trunks (great for contactless curbside pickup over the past year and change). And when I need to, pop...
Woof... Well, I had a huge car wreck back in 2016. I was in an old K10, a guy in a Subaru really needed to turn left across two lanes of highway traffic, and I had the fantastic fortune to be highway traffic. Net 70mph, small (1/4-1/3) overlap. I ate the steering wheel hard, bounced back and hit...
Watching that guy is why I do not trust any of my machines to shops like that... When they tried to force the input shaft over out of plane to fit the chain on against the seal he previously described as being a bitch to install, then later admitted to having left the original in place, thus...
I'm in the same boat as you. I went with a diesel for my Bison, and I used to work in the biodiesel industry (I was head of the experimental feedstocks program at the largest refinery in the US at the time). I also intend to run this pig into the ground, rebuild it better and stronger, then run...
So... I want to say people are overthinking this, but I'm afraid it's the opposite. There may be printed words in a manual stating a 5 qt capacity, but there's also printed words saying to fill it to the full line on the dipstick, and add a quart when it gets to the other line. If we accept that...
A factoid I recently learned that applies to this conversation: "highway", per the EPA ratings cycle, is driving without a bunch of stops. A "highway" can be 35 mph as long as there are no stoplights, stop signs, or stop and go traffic. As a result, I rarely get above 45mph in my daily drive...
Link to vid?
Also, it occurs to me that I've not seen anything official indicating that this is the model in our trucks. Where does that datum come from?
From my reading of that document, there's no additional mechanism. Just the clutch pack. The lock is in the motor that actuates the clutch...
Bartact owners: There are two levels of Bartact covers. It looks like the "tactical" covers have the MOLLE strips in various places, and the "baseline" that doesn't. Neither have any photos worth anything on their website. Could people with Bartact covers post photos of the backs and sides of...
The motor actuating the clutch pack has a lock on it. That motor moves to where it needs to be, and when not actively moving is locked in place. So you if it's shifted to 2wd, it opens the clutches and locks there. 4wd, it closes and locks there. A4WD, it moves around to whatever clutch...
So it allows more slip at lower speeds due to more steering input. It uses more clutch pressure at higher speeds for the opposite reason. When going in a straight line, it "returns to the 5% duty cycle" which can be a low or high torque value depending on whether the clutch is NO or NC... Later...
I've not seen the P-track buttons prior to your photos in the other thread. Did you screw them directly to the bedside, or do any nutserts or anything for rust prevetion, anything like that?
What did you go with on the track rails themselves in terms of holes. I think I've seen it totally...
So, I didn't realize it was a Magna unit (though I don't know it makes much difference) and thought it was from New Process. Regardless, my understanding is that A4WD (as it's called above) links front to rear with a clutch, and once it detects drivetrain bind, releases the clutch to allow...
