Hey @Sal, awesome photos! Your truck is on a 2” lift in those pictures right?

I’m still trying to figure this out. While I think it has been answered that several people have successfully mounted 35’s and even 37’s on stock rubicon rims.

I were to buy today I was planning on the General Grabber A/TX 35x12.5x17 as they seem to be a tru 35” and have great reviews. Most 35” tires by other manufacturers appear to be closer to 34.5”...

Sorry to bring this up again but I’m still trying to find any evidence that someone has tested 35” tires (stock or aftermarket rims) and wheeled hard to test rubbing at full articulation in an otherwise stock rubicon with no lift. Has this been answered and I’m missing it?
Hey no problem.

With 35s on stock rims and a 2 in lift you will not rub. I’ve only rubbed once and it was on a obstacle course were I was making a hard left turn (Wheel completely to the left) and the right wheel was completely tucked into the fender. I rubbed a little on a drag link.
This only happened once and I confident that will never happen again.

I was coming down a small hill that had a bump the right hand side and I had to make a sharp left turn.

I’ve taken my on multiple trips to Citris, Fl. Beasley, Ga, and keep events. I did end up get 1.5 in spacers but didn’t really need it.

Now, my opinion go with 37s. I just mountes them a few ago and it’s a hell of a difference between 35s and 37s regarding clearance.

With my 35, I was constantly hitting my skid plates , diffs, rear tires and rear bumper. With my 37s I’ve cleared everything we’re my 35 hit. I do rub a lot more so I have loss a little in articulation but I’ve gained a lot more in clearance. With the 37s and a right line you gain an addition 2in of clearance goin up and down steep hills. Yea i rub a little on the inner fenders but that’s it.

nonetheless here are some pic of me flexing on 35s. What you see the max articulation before on tire lifted off the ground. With 35s I still had about 1in on the front tires before they rubbed.

Thanks for the reply and for clarifying your experiences! Looks awesome!

I’m still torn. Would love to jump to 37s directly but I want to do it right. Trying to have a strategy since $$ is getting tight so trying to figure how to build this in stages.

1. 35” tires (likely wheels too)

2. MC 2.5 game changer lift

3. 37” tires

4. Regear to 4.88

5. Beef up undercarriage as necessary

The above may take 2 years...

This was with an after market beadlock wheel and no lift on 35" KO2's. no rubbing.
I want to say 4.5? I carried them over from my JK.
Love this video—I keep watching over and over :) Looks like 0 or even a negative offset on those rims. It looks like they stick out at 1-1.5” is that close?

I’m wondering if a 25mm offset would still pull it off without rubbing...

1. 35” tires (likely wheels too)-I love the stock rims. I will upgrade to beadlocks once i find something I like.

2. MC 2.5 game changer lift- These is a good choice with the 6-pack Shocks. Def will help with articulation

3. 37” tires- might as well do it. I made that mistake and it lost me $800

4. Regear to 4.88- unless you’re towing Or doing some nasty rock climbing, you really don’t need to regear.

5. Beef up undercarriage as necessary. For sure a most.

do you have a JTR or a sport?

The above may take 2 years...

I’m on a sport man. But I do not go hardcore off-road. Yes you loose some pick up moving to 37s. For me and my terrain it’s just fine. I don’t feel like regearing is a must but it’s also flat and sea level where I live. I may add a 3/4 spacer up front just to level it out but so far I’m happy. Pm me if you want some pics to see clearanxe

Yeah, I’m a mile high minimum :) and while I’m not a hard core rock crawler, most trails we’ve taken and plan to use every bit of articulation available and rubbing the belly is too common on a stock rubicon.

Still thinking I can get by on 35” but I think a lift will be necessary eventually too...

I will be putting 35s on an unlifted Rubicon very soon. Just in the final stretches of lining everything up and picking a wheel. The stock rim can "fit" some 35s but it will not be an ideal fit and the tire will balloon to much for my likes so wider rims are in order. I'll post pics when done.

I swapped out the 33” Falken tires that come with it for the same tire in 35”, but a lower quality 5th tire and sold the OEM ones for $700. Cost me about $700. Looks good. Thinking it would look better with some spacers.

Does anyone have a pic of the mounted height of a 35x12.50x17 or a 315/70/17.? The factory 285’s, that claim to be 33”....

Zombie thread. Didn't see an answer to the OP question I came looking for.

Disconnected, at full articulation, aired up or down, lock to lock, on rock-stock Rubicon suspension without spacers, level, or lift as Stellantis birthed her, do 35" tires make contact anywhere?
