  1. Official: Hurricane Twin-Turbo 3.0 I-6 Coming for Jeep With Over 500 HP and 475 ft-lbs!

Not getting the HO version wouldn't be that big of a deal, IMO. Engine swaps are a thing, and it would be a very easy one.
  2. Official: Hurricane Twin-Turbo 3.0 I-6 Coming for Jeep With Over 500 HP and 475 ft-lbs!

Or maybe not...? https://[Banned Site]/there-will-not-be-a-hurricane-plug-in-hybrid-after-all/ Replace "[Banned Site]" with "mopar" and then "insiders".
  3. Official: Hurricane Twin-Turbo 3.0 I-6 Coming for Jeep With Over 500 HP and 475 ft-lbs!

You're forgetting the length requirements for the flywheel/accessory sides, which would not be included in the additional length. Add bore/spacing specs' worth of length, and you'll be closer. Re, I5: no thank you. A straight six is a balanced and blissful configuration that can easily be tuned...
  4. Official: Hurricane Twin-Turbo 3.0 I-6 Coming for Jeep With Over 500 HP and 475 ft-lbs!

I recall reading that one of the design parameters of the Hurricane was to be able to drop in to replace the V8s. Assuming they accomplished this, and the above analysis makes a strong case that they did, length shouldn't be an issue. That being said, if they can shoehorn a V8 into the JL/JT...
  5. Any 2023 rumors/ leaks yet ?

https://www.motor1.com/news/575655/jeep-confirms-twin-turbo-i6-engine-grand-wagoneer/ Not directly JT related, but I think the general expectation is for the Hurricane to make it to the JT/JL platform. The Grand Wagoneer is new this year, so it's not exactly a mid-cycle refresh. Additionally...
  6. Any 2023 rumors/ leaks yet ?

I think Easter Safari teasers have started trickling out. Not much that'll actually make it to production, but still some cool stuff and the occasional hint. Might see a 4XE JT or a Hurricane.
  7. Hmmmmmmmmm ... Justin Case .............. Make sure you document?

@hjdca (I tried to quote, and it failed somehow), is that the same dataset the CarFax types use?
  8. Hmmmmmmmmm ... Justin Case .............. Make sure you document?

Same here. I've done UOA in the past, but purely as a monitoring tool. I don't extend the service interval. I do oil changes on modern cars with synthetic oils "on the 5s". Every 5K miles is super easy to remember and keep track of, and is pretty universally aligned with the "heavy duty" (or...
  9. Hmmmmmmmmm ... Justin Case .............. Make sure you document?

Obviously he ignored the oil change indicator. No manual outside the infotainment center was one of the guy's excuses in the article I read earlier this morning. Online is very slightly better. For however many tens of thousands of dollars, they can spare a few for however many sheets of paper...
  10. Hmmmmmmmmm ... Justin Case .............. Make sure you document?

Yeah... Blackstone UOA is good stuff (not that the third party shop did this), but a warranty is a two way street. You have to maintain some minimum maintenance schedule defined by the warranty. Also noteworthy is the owners' manual existing ONLY in the infotainment system... It's like they're...
  11. Straight 6 update...

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/30l-tornado-straight-six-engine-coming-to-ram-1500-jeep-wrangler-gladiator-wagoneer-177604.html Coming to the JL/JT according to this. It'd be great to know the timeline. Trucks need either straight sixes or v8s, and this would make the JT about as perfect as...
  12. Surprising Jeep Damage

Echoing the suggestion to make sure the frame is still straight. Modern truck frames are made to absorb energy. There's a cutout somewhere between the rear axle and the cab that is designed to deform. I don't have one to hand to take a photo, but you'll know it when you see it. Big hole right...
  13. Anybody ever try and make their own set of mud flaps?

I had RockBlokz on my last truck, but mounting was a more difficult proposition. Prior to ordering them, I looked into making my own. The only question was mounting and patterning, and I just got lazy. The material I was going to use, and suggest you use, is industrial conveyer belt material...
  14. Hot Spot No Internet

Haha! Me too, but likely for different reasons. We have NO cell service of any kind here, but only AT&T lies about it, and pretends they do anyway. Turns out there are these crazy new things called "mountains" they've apparently never been made aware of. Seems it's hard for the signal to get...
  15. Gupton Motors up to 8% below invoice

Early payoff penalties are not legal in all states (CO for instance).
  16. Rear Window (Hardtop) Mod ??

How's it look from the inside? Inside and outside photos with glass in? Are you putting this into production (if so, kudos!), or is from this an established aftermarket outfit?
  17. Gladiator 4xe Hybrid PHEV Not Coming Until 2024MY: Report

That assumes cost is the only motivation. It's not. That's why we're on a Gladiator forum and not a... Ford Ranger base model (I'm guessing) forum.
  18. Hi Lift 48 or 60?

I have one that I bought new, and looks like it went through a mill. Most of the paint is gone, but the working bits are currently shiny from a recent rebuild. :) I use it around the property to move boulders and logs and such. Never used it on a vehicle. Don't think I'd want to.
  19. Rear Window (Hardtop) Mod ??

That is interesting... You might have something there. I've never really cared one way or another about the small, manual rear window, because I never really use it, and all my trucks have toppers. Additionally, I'm follicularly and melaninly challenged, so like you, I want the top on (I'm even...
  20. Do Method wheels require splined lug nuts?

Just get someone else's factory take offs. Good quality, all the ease and compatibility, and you can often find them SUPER cheap. That's what I've done for all of mine and my parents' cars (including JK and JL Wranglers). Best I've done is a set of effectively new wheels and tires where I didn't...
