I love my Jeep, but I was keeping budget in mind when I ordered it. I skimped on a couple options from the factory I wish I would have gotten. Auxiliary switches and the bed plug are the two big ones. As for aftermarket, I take my time when picking what I want to do, so I have no regrets there.
I’ve been in a Jeep since 1996. The first was a 1988 XJ Chief two door. Wheeled it all over the east coast…4” lift, BFG muds, bumpers, sliders, rack, etc.
Then I went to a 1993 YJ. Just changed the wheels and tires. 4cyl was horrible so I ordered a new 1998 TJ Sport 4.0.
After that...
Here’s the latest on the XJ. Fresh paint and rust repair complete. Nothing new with the JT. I sold the Orvis as it needed far too much work than I wanted to invest. A TJ will be it’s replacement In the coming weeks.
The recently acquired ZJ is a 1996 Orvis Edition. This one will be for my younger son who is 13 currently.
It was purchased a few months old by a friend’s father back in early 1997. It is completely stock, never modified. 5.2 V8 with a boat load of miles, brakes that are completely shot and...
The XJ is a 1998 Sport. I got this for my soon to be 16 year old son a couple years ago. I paid $150 for it. It was all stock and in relatively good condition.
Everything underneath was freshened up. Old Man Emu HD suspension with Bilstein 5100’s. Rough Country 1-ton steering, Core 4x4...
I thought I’d share my Jeeps. I don’t post much, but the information on this forum is very useful. I’ve had a bunch of Jeeps over the years, mostly all of them were built very mild, but nice. I’m more of an OEM+ person.
My JT is a 2020 Rubicon. Ordered in summer of 2019. It has an AEV 2”...
Mine always park beside each other
And then I added another one a couple weeks ago….
a friend from 500 miles away visits for a photo op.
we get all the Rubi’s together
Nothing special, just satin black from a can. A few of them need touched up after install from the socket. Might not be my end all solution, but for now it works. I didn’t want to use some junk bolts that were going to rust in 6 months. If you find something that is good, report back on here...
