^ Alot depends on the offset of your wheel. I ran -18's with 35x12.5's for almost a year with no lift on my Max Tow sport, and never touched the inner fender liners. It'd rub the outer edge of the front fender at flex, but that's about it.
So the ride with the EVO's was good. Definitely a softer than the Clayton's. Ride height...? I actually think the EVO's sat up a little higher than the Clayton's. When I laid the springs next to each other, the EVO's were a tad longer but the coils seemed to be a little thicker on the Clayton's...
I swapped out my EVO Plush Ride coils for some Clayton coils. The EVO's are nice, I just wanted something a bit firmer. The Clayton's seem to do the trick. (EVO's are for sale, if anyone is looking for a set).
Installed on my '20 gasser JT Sport for about 10,000 miles. Provided closer to 3" of lift. Only reason for selling is I went with Clayton Springs to match my control arms. Will ship on your dime. I also have a used set (4) of 2.5" EVO shock extenders. $100
I checked out Pioneer's modular setup. Looks awesome. I've always have Pioneer head units in most of my cars. And Metra had always been top notch with their install kits.
So I ordered mine with the HD spindles, as they recommended any tire over a 31" (I think that was the cut-off) going with the HD spindles. These mated to the 2,200 (tonne) kit, should work out perfectly for my build and be stronger than I'll ever need. And man, these things are beefy!
Good to know. I was curious as to how much they have. I had real close fenders on my last trailer and they did rub some on big bounces. I'll plan accordingly, knowing they move alot. Thanks! I can't wait to put mine on
Yup. I think it's the perfect accent for our SG's. Tow hooks, RokBlok logo on mudflap, dash, border on hood and tailgate wrap... Green was my second choice.
I'm on Clayton arms w/ 2.5" Evo springs. I discovered that the ends of my drag link were worn/defective. Replaced under warranty and definitely tightened things up a bit. Increasing castor and toe-in slightly helped, too.
Towed a friend of the family's '46 from SE PA to upstate NY, and it towed beautifully. He had brought it down with his Dodge 3500 and had the Willy's all the way up against the front. I had to play around a little with finding the perfect balance between squat and trailer sway.
I've towed a variety of weighed trailers, and there (at least in my personal observation) is definitely a point where the 8-speed recognizes a trailer and adapts it's shift points accordingly. Like @ShadowsPapa said above, I found it holds the rpms higher for a longer period of time between...
I have a set of the 10.5" ones, and I absolutely love them. They replaced a set of JKS's and I can say that I'll never go back. They are super high quality, and work better and are easier to use than expected.
@ORACLElights I'm just going to say that I completely understand, and will be grateful for whenever they are available. I have working taillights at the moment, so they're a want, not a need. Thank you for being transparent with the status of your projects.
