  1. Uconnect flash/harddrive format and question

I have a 2021 Gladiator with a 7" display system. I have verified that FAT and NTFS formatted 128 gb flash drives can be used on my system. Linux ext4 formatting does not work. It takes several minutes for the system to scan the entire drive and make the 'Browser' available but once complete...
  2. UConnect supported audio file format list

The Uconnect 7 inch system in my 2021 reads 128 gb flash drives without issue. It takes a while for the system to make browser available but once it does, everything else works fine. MP4 AAC encoding is playable. The flash drive can be formatted FAT or NTFS. I have not verified exFAT. Linux ext4...
  3. UConnect supported audio file format list

It does not look like you have gotten any replies here. Have you learned anything for other sources? I am working on a deep drive into what the system support and how to make the most of USB content. I am working on supported codecs, sample rates and bitrates, playlist formats and ID3 tag...
  4. Remote start cold temps.

Sub-zero mornings are pretty common here, especially these past ten days. Remote start works every time on both the Renegade and the Gladiator.
  5. Nobody waves anymore.

    Ditto Montana. ?
  6. Bed mat or options?

    1. Did you get the BedTred? 2. Do you find that it traps moisture underneath it? 3. Do you think it is a rust problem?
  7. Speaker swap

I completed the install of the Alpine SPV-65-JLTs and Infinity Reference REF-3032cfx. Installation was easy enough. Cutting out the plastic on my brand new (two weeks) Gladiator was a little bit disconcerting. The Alpines fit perfectly, the Infinitys were literally screw in and slap the factory...
  8. No bed power? No problem! $9.99 do it yourself.

Not yet. The fabricator is still working on it. However, I found components that I like better. The plate will likely have two components in it, one Anderson Power Pole and a USB charging outlet. So, in the plate will have square holes rather than round ones. They are not water tight, I'm...
  9. Winch Power Interrupts

I had the Warn Power Interrupt Kit on my last Jeep. Worked flawlessly for 15 years. No need to open the hood to use the winch. The synthetic winch line reduces or eliminates the need to put the hood up during recovery operations (yes, I've seen both steel cable and synthetic line part). As...
  10. Winch Power Interrupts

Appreciate the photo. It looks like it will fit in there the way I plan. I had the Warn Power Interrupt Kit installed on my last Jeep. It worked very well for the entire 15 years I owned it. The Warn solution works well. I was only hoping to find a solenoid with a more narrow width. I will...
  11. Winch Power Interrupts

Thank you. Based on this, I have gone back to figuring out where to place the Warn Power Interrupt Kit solenoid. I wish Jeep designed in a little more space for owner added components.
  12. Would the Wrangler (4 dr) and the Gladiator make good military garrison vehicles?

Our favorite inside the wire vehicle was a John Deere Gator. We drove the hell out of that thing.
  13. Winch Power Interrupts

Thank you! I suspected that I was not looking at the right thing. If you do not mind furthering my education, what does a contactor pack do? Moving the control box is above my skill set (as demonstrated by the quetion itself).
  14. Winch Power Interrupts

Zeon Platinum? I sent an inquiry to Warn Support regarding the install of a Zeon Platinum. They said that everything on the winch is controlled through the bluetooth controller and that an interrupt was not needed. I worked with bluetooth devices too long to put 100% trust in a bluetooth...
  15. Winch Power Interrupts

Has anyone used one of these (Ayleid 12V 500A Winch Solenoid Relay, as an example) as a power interrupt for a 10K winch? I'd like to use something slimmer than the Warn Power Interrupt kit solenoid. Thank you in advance.
  16. Would the Wrangler (4 dr) and the Gladiator make good military garrison vehicles?

I wonder if that $100K includes a complete redesign of the frame, suspension and drive train to handle the added weight and drastic changes to handling? This was an interesting problem with the HMMWV's that got up armor kits in '05-'06. Even for a medium protection upgrade, there's going to be a...
  17. Would the Wrangler (4 dr) and the Gladiator make good military garrison vehicles?

Trying to get in and out of the back doors in full battle rattle with an M16 (vice an M4) would be a bit like birthing elephants, even for APFT 300 soldiers. For a garrison vehicle that might be OK.
  18. No bed power? No problem! $9.99 do it yourself.

I'm planning to have some made with two or four holes. Talking to the fabricator tomorrow. Anyone else interested in buying something like this?
  19. Speaker swap

Based on yours and other comments I am planning to install the Alpine SPV-65 JLT and replace the 3 1/2 inch speakers in the corner of the dash. I looked at also replace the speakers at knee level in the dash but that involves way more effort than I am willing to spend.
