  1. I got rubbing in all the wrong places!

Sport S with leveling kit (1.5" front, .75" rear), stock rims running Falken 285/75R17. I chose this combo specifically because it was a skinnier tire which I felt would help with any rubbing. I have been extremely happy with this setup, both on and off-road. But yesterday I pulled my front...
  2. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I got fed up with the "quicker" disconnects. Out with the old: And in with the new:
  3. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Santa Clarita area, SoCal. That's Rowher Flats to Bouquet Canyon. It was 75 and light breezes up top, perfect weather. 90 down in town. The club is Channel Islands 4x4, a great group. Facebook only, no dues, very family friendly, and there is pretty much a run a month.
  4. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Daughter's birthday request was to go wheeling, so went out with the club today. First we went up a ridge, then we winched a CJ when he almost flipped, then we went down the other side. Steepest slope I've been on yet, got to 26 degrees. First off-roading the wife has done in 19 years, now...
  5. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

The Italian curse? (I have a Guzzi)
  6. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Probably the most important mod I'll ever make to the Gladiator. I changed out this sticker: For this one: I also added custom paracord grab handles from DarksideDesign: I sent him a picture of my aiguillette from my Honor Guard uniform, and he matched it perfectly. Not only that, he...
  7. No running lights on trailer/camper

F107 and F109 are left / right signal for trailer. I had a trailer that kept eating the F109 fuze.
  8. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

I debated putting it here or in the "what did you haul" thread, but it's more than just what I loaded in the truck. It's the why. This morning, for the last time ever, I loaded up all my firefighting gear and drove out of the station. Ran my last call at 0300. I have 3 weeks of training the...
  9. A Pillar ball mount

I wanted to move my radio mount from a zip-tied cludge to a real charger mount. The best option seemed to be the A-pillar mount. I designed and 3D-printed this really ugly but workable mount. I made the central core big enough to take my 3/8 socket with extension. I re-used the stock bolt...
  10. Under Drivers Seat Lock Box

You can fit a single box like above under there. That's my current setup. A mobile box with cable lock. I took a strong magnet and zip-tied it to the rear part of the seat frame. When I slide the box back, the magnet grabs it. So far, under heavy braking, the box has never moved.
  11. Fuel Door Solution

I'm too busy crying over my wallet emptying so quickly to worry about my hand...
  12. Incoming text message cuts off climate control

While stuck in freeway traffic this weekend (thanks, superbowl) I received a rather long text message from a co-worker. My phone was plugged in via USB, so the radio helpfully read it to me. The entire time it was reading the message, the AC stopped flowing. As soon as it was done, it kicked...
  13. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I couldn't find brackets either. I used flat steel bar stock bent in an L shape. I cut holes in the closeout panel and used the existing holes.
  14. It's cold again. Guess who's back? Old St. Death Wobble. (edit-Not true DW, just a big shimmy)

And that's why I left Watertown for SoCal! I'm thin-skinned now.
  15. When NOT to air down?

I think with snow the idea is to increase ground pressure, period. Either on or off road. When in the Army at Fort Drum, New York (a snow hell-hole), we had both HMMWVs and CUCVs (think Chevy Blazers). There were rating levels for when each vehicle needed snow chains. The HMMWVs, with their...
  16. Necessity, the mother of invention.. and all that.

Exactly as Caspien said. I can fab ABS now. I suck at metal fab...
  17. Necessity, the mother of invention.. and all that.

Okay, I'm almost there. I copied the file, duplicated it, rotated it, and printed in ABS. I then manually measured the holes and drilled them. Switch sits fine, but I didn't have a rivnut. I thought I could use some clip fasteners, but nope. So the final assembly is waiting on a rivnut. I...
  18. Necessity, the mother of invention.. and all that.

Well, you motivated me. I rigged up a vent system and bought some ABS. This was my first test print. Then when I went to test-fit, my manual disconnect switch has a different bolt pattern than your solenoid. So it will be back to the drawing board for me. All was not lost, however. The...
