Pretty normal and under spec. Prior to my Gladiator, I had Xtreme Recon Wrangler Rubicon and those run much hotter. This was in normal driving taking an exit after climbing a short hill in Wrangler XR. No towing, no payload...

The worst abuse that can be put on automatic transmission is shifting gears while backing out in reverse and shifting it to D while the vehicle has not completely stopped. Or vice versa. I see a lot of people do that. Not saying the OP has that habit, but IMO statistically this bad driving habit...

You also have lower octane gas in CO than Texas too. 85/87/91| in CO compared to 87/89/91 or 93 in most other states.

Why don't you get a Bestop EZ-Roll? New under $500. Since Bestop is an OEM supplier for Jeep, the material on Mopar tonneau is the same as black twill Bestop EZ-Roll or even EZ-Fold. If you have a Sunrider, the material will be a perfect match.
