Just picked up the Jeep. Super excited on how it turned out. Still waiting on the driveshafts. I'm gonna give it some time before judging the suspension. Feels great so far.
Also, the diesel does great with 37s. I don't feel a need to regear at all.
For anyone wondering, the 37x12.5 Cooper STT...
I always take my Jeep to Baker Off Road. I took my JK there a few times and just dropped off my JT this week. Getting a 4.5" evo lift, KMC beadlocks, 37" cooper tires, front and rear driveshafts and a winch installed. Honest guys that do good work. It's hard to find someone like that, but once...
Brake pads and rotors are probably the next items to go. Then probably suspension bushings. The rubber bushing take a harder beating than normal. For example control arm, sway bar link, track bar, drag link bushings. However, they could last you ten of thousands of miles before they go bad.
Just dropped it off to get the lift and tires installed! Also opted to add a Warn VR 12s winch to the Mopar front bumper. Gonna be a long couple days...
I'm still impressed with the diesel. I averaged 20mpg driving 80mph+ on the way to the shop. That's 550lbs of tires and wheels in the bed.
Those 37" ridge grapplers are ok for daily driving and offroading when it's dry. They SUCK in mud though. They just get caked up and your tires just become round mud balls. This time around I ordered 37" Cooper STT Pros and should have them installed next week.
Just trying to talk you out of...
I'm just going overboard and getting the EVO 4.5" lift installed next week.
The only way I can see them fixing it without adding any lift is a shorter spring with a much firmer spring rate. Even then, the space between the bump stops is so small that it's laughable that any of the engineers...
What are the chances that Jeep puts a value on the "fix" and reimburses people that have already gotten a lift from another company? A man can dream right?
I'm getting the EVO 4.5" lift installed next week and went with the Fox 2.0 4.5-6" shocks. Seeing as most people are getting more than 4.5" of lift with the lift kit, I decided to get the longer ones.
I can't imagine it being more than $400 at max for just the AEV 2" spacer kit. A shop with a lift should be able to knock it out in under 2 hours. I'd honestly be looking at around the $200-$350 range. Also you could easily do it yourself in probably 4 hours with a jack and basic hand tools.
I never thought I'd need a winch as I don't really do any offroading that warrants one. However, a friend and I decided to go out wheeling one day. It had rained slightly that day and the trails were stilly muddy. We both got stuck on the side of a mountain at an offroad park on what was...
I'm going with 37s and a 4.5" lift. The only way I'm going 40s is when I upgrade my axles. If I get decide to get new axles, I'll sell upgrade to 40s. Then I'll sell my old ones.
I'm at 6k miles, so not much at all, but I have no issues so far except the bottoming out... That's getting resolved with a 4.5" evo lift. I do get on the interstate about 2 times a day at least and run 80+mph for a good 15-20 minutes each time.
I've said this before and I'll say it again, I...
I had the 3.6L in my JK and it was a mess. Replaced the cam, cam phaser, sensors, rear main seal leak, thermostat failed, oil filter housing cracked, and the crank position sensor went out. The crank position sensor was the most annoying since it didn't really throw the proper code. For the most...
The play in the center is about the normal amount that I've had in my past JK and the JT now. The pulling to the right seems like it might be the slope of the road. In the video it seems the road slopes to the right so you'd have to correct it by steering a bit to the left. It may just be the...
I don't know about a plug kit but for a jack, I have a harbor freight floor jack and it works great. I've had it since 2014 and it's still working just fine. I've used it to do 5k tire rotations for my JK that had 105k miles with 37's, beadlocks and a 3" lift. The jack was too short to lift from...
