I am glad it worked out for you!
@Bakerboy
You should try updating with Tazer and see if the upgrade works. I think I vaguely remember reading that someone did the upgrade with Tazer and it worked fine. BTW. If you brick it, it is still yours. ;) YMMV.
Check your Application Version as written on the 1st page.
I spent a lot of time writing it up so that every step is spelled out like a cook book. Hated reading through all the posts for hours trying to figure out what the hell needed to happen, no one needs to go through that again.
I...
Almost anticlimactic.. Happy to be done with it. I have been collecting parts to add the paddle shifter and the adaptive cruise. Adaptive Cruise Control will be fun.😬
This is why I kept the engine running to prevent something like this from happening.
Post up the screen. Are you reading your version number correct?
WRT Trail Cam, I would be happy to think through it with you. You can post it up on my other HowTo post. I feel pretty good about installing...
There is no OTA update being pushed per a JL owners since last April 2024. I remember reading s/he called Uconnect themselves and their website was not updated for some time. When I ran my VIN, it said I did not have any update. But I did have an update outstanding.
You guys are braver than me. Remember if this update freezes, you may be looking at bricking the headunit. I did not make up this instruction. I pieced them together after reading information scattered throughout 8 different posts across two different platforms.
I used this USB Drive after...
We don't get to decide what is compatible. FAT32 is what is required and FAT32 it is. They are using some proprietary OS no one know what file system it uses.
Yeah that is what I read about someone paying for the update. Feel free to read through ~40 pages of thread from JL forum that I referenced.
I believe either Ram crews got a hold of the files or JL owner who purchased the map upgrade also received the 40.1 update and shared it with the world...
*YOU DO THIS UPGRADE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM MERELY SHARING MY EXPERIENCE OF SUCCESSFULLY DOING THE UPDATE. YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY SUPPORT IF THERE ARE ANY ISSUES ARISE FROM FOLLOWING THIS UPDATE PROCEDURE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.*
In the midst of debugging my TrailCam...
As I was chasing this intermittent TrailCam/Parking guideline issue. I finally decided to plug in the AlphaOBD.
Then cleared the codes but upon restart U0010 remained.
While engine running, I tried disconnect power to CVPM and see if power cycle will reset but no luck.
Then I decides to...
On the bottom of the touch screen, hold the left and right ends of the short cut icons and you will get a dealer menu. The first item on that screen will give you the Unconnect info.
Edit: I realize you mentioned 7 inch screen. Not sure if this is applicable to 7 inch screen.
No. I bought a generic USB drive and copied the firmware into it.
I am planning on doing a write up once I have a good idea that I didn't break anything.
I hear you. At least it seems like they are taking notes and you are documenting the occurrence.
Just started the update process...
Keeping fingers crossed but shall see.
I am pessimistically optimistic. Jeep did not do a good job with quality control...
Have you tried talking to a different dealer? Replacing the entire headunit is not an option?
So here is something I found rather promising.
Fits the year, model range and one of the indication which is the "backup gridline missing". Repair summary states the solution is to update to Version 40.1.
I will report back tomorrow after the update. Keeping my fingers crossed.
