I put on a new set of Method Race Wheels and BFG KM3s in 295/70R17 today. They look really sweet! Nice and aggressive. I had KM2s on my JKU and they were great tires.
I have a set of Gladiator Overland stock wheels WITH the TPMS sensors and a set of stock size Goodyear Duratrac tires (4). Size is 255/70/R18. I have the stock Overland spare on steel wheel and stock Bridgestone Dueler tire to throw in.
The tires have under 6500 miles on them. The tires have...
That is not really correct and if you read the reference instructions you will see that you could over correct and put too much weight on the front axle. If you reintroduce any rake, then you have likely put too much weight on the front axle. You are shooting for half way between the uncoupled...
No rake. Level front to rear is what you are looking for. Having the back end high with the rake can be as bad, then the backend is flighty and hard to control downhill in particular.
Essentially, you shouldn’t have any squat. That makes the front end flighty and harder to control in bad situations. The purpose of the WDH is to distribute the weight evenly between all the axles, truck and trailer. It essentially should be level from front to back. That is hard to dial in, but...
I wasn’t looking for a lift really since my wife has enough trouble getting in, so I wanted to just level my front end and not lose height with a winch and bumper installed. I used the Synergy 1” springs and a 1/2” spacer with the Teraflex shocks. This combo has worked out perfect for the height...
I don’t have a picture, but I think my favorite would be our 1980 SJ we had back in the early 2000s in Arizona. Did a lot of roaming around the Huachuca mountains in that thing then drove it hauling a U-Haul trailer cross country to New Jersey when we moved to the East Coast. Spent a lot of time...
I did that exact same thing on my JKU and didn’t have any problems. With synthetic at least if the line comes off it isn’t going to fly off and smack someone. I only let out 25 feet or so of winch line most times anyways, leaving 75 feet or so wrapped around the drum.
No issues. It was pretty easy and straight forward. I did have one bolt that was difficult to start due to the angle the truck was parked, but after I started cinching down the two others on that side it went in. There are two short bolts on each side in the rear of the door frames that you...
I haven’t checked into this, but do all Gladiators have the dock/charging station behind the rear seat? Or do you have to have the factory option to have the plug-n-play capability?
