Rust is the enemy of Jeeps. Plowing snow (almost always pre-salted snow) is probably the worst thing you can do in any jeep that you intend to keep for 10+ years. I know for a fact that it will cost me less over the next 15 years to buy a few years old regular cab 4x4 truck and use that for...
The best light snow (0.5 to 4 inches) tires that I have used are Firestone Destination AT. They were way better than BFG AT, BFG MT, Michelin AT, BFG Long Trail, Michelin LTX, Goodyear LT , and many other brands that I used in the past. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Firestone MT2 that...
Sport max tow or Willys. Both have LSD (trac-lock). They are far superior to either open rear sport (non-tow, non-willys) or selectable (open or locked) rear diff on the Mojave & Rubicon. And forget front locker - that will get you killed in packed snow or ice.
The correct answer to the OP...
My policy covers repair at $0.00 & replacement at $50.00. Here is the good news... JL & Gladiators are new enough that Safelite only carries Mopar OEM glass. No aftermarket worries & I still have a little jeep trying to climb up my window.
Has to have tow package. But otherwise, yes. A base sport max tow would be fine with me. I would swap to 285x70r17 tires when the stock 255s wore out. Need tow package (6k lbs) or max tow (7k+ lbs with 4.10 gears & wide track axles & LSD) because I have a trailer.
I was considering 2" lift...
I didn't disconnect my front sway bar. Did fine. Nacho was behind me on trails & he said I didn't have any wheel spin (other than when I pulled Ben out of 3 feet of mud, lol.)
I don't have lockers, just factory LSD that comes with tow package, Willys, & maybe couple other variants.
Had opportunity to crawl under my JT today. Found where contact was made underneath. The only things that got scraped were the brackets for the trailing arms/lower control arms. They don't make skidplates for these because it would hamper articulation. Only "fix" is a suspension lift or...
Next time, will have better notice. This was a last minute thing. Wife & I were supposed to go to a concert that got canceled and we already had a hotel in central PA booked and had put in for time off work.
I'm glad the concert was canceled because we got to go offroading on Sunday &...
I was considering the 2" Mopar lift, but I think I'm just going to put on 285x70r17 tires (about 1" taller than stock) when the factory ones wear out. I will be doing some towing in the 4k lbs range, so I don't want to mess with towing ability too much. But I love these Firestone Destination MT.
But it IS "assault with a deadly weapon". Often wanna be tough guys will still come at a person armed with a bat or knife. But merely lifting your shirt so your would be attacker sees your gun is enough to avoid the confrontation entirely. Only a truly crazy person or someone out of their...
My "bat" sits in a BMore Tactical IWB holster at the 4 o'clock position. A baseball bat is still considered "deadly force". Potential prosecutors (in the climate in which we live) are actually more likely to prosecute for defending yourself with a bat than if you took training classes, got a...
