  1. That's Actually Not A Bad Deal - Dirt Road Cred / AMW 5.7 Gladiator

I was able to get around this by installing a CARB certified E-Rod LS3 engine in my 1977 Trans Am. But they’re only allowed to be installed in vehicles pre 1995 (no idea why they selected that year). You need to work very closely with a state smog ref before throwing $s down on an engine swap...
  2. Lets See Your Other Rides!!

Agreed for some reason it’s nice driving the old cars without all of the tech sometimes. Easier to fix stuff yourself too.
  3. Debating on which Performance Programmer to Purchase

Would love to know if someone has successfully used this one. For now I’ve been living with the Pedal Monster as my only “performance” upgrade. I know it’s just a throttle controller but when the Pedal Monster is disabled the JT feels like it has lost about 100HP. I couldn’t live without it.
  4. Lets See Your Other Rides!!

Thanks Dan! I got a good deal on a 4L70E automatic. It’s a little tough to fit a 6 speed manual box in there too.
  5. Lets See Your Other Rides!!

1977 Trans Am with LS3 swap, I’ve had it for the past 12 years now. Nice having 430HP now instead of its original 180.
  6. XJ person interested in Mojave

No rattles or creaks on my 2021. No complaints - and I usually complain loudly about my vehicles if they have recurring issues. Just a rear axle leak that was successfully addressed a couple years back. I think the Mojave just may turn into a long term family member.
  7. Do you all think quality has gone DOWN?

The last 3 new vehicles I’ve purchased have had batteries die within the first year of ownership. The OEM batteries are especially horrible but aftermarket ones (Optima from personal experience) seem to have issues now too.
  8. Do you all think quality has gone DOWN?

Just hit the 4 year anniversary of owning my 2021 Mojave and overall I have to say I’ve been pleasantly surprised with its quality. Just an aux battery that died early on (I do think battery quality has seriously dropped recently) and the leaky right rear axle. Jeep made a very concerted and...
  9. Main vs Aux battery replacement question on 2021 JT

Thanks guys for the quick responses!
  10. Main vs Aux battery replacement question on 2021 JT

Hi - I bought my 2021 JT in May 2021 and still have the original main battery running. The original aux battery was replaced in mid August 2022. The JT has 15K miles now and has the "Auxiliary switches aren't available" message every time I start it cold in the morning. I don't think the...
  11. Demon-Powered 840-HP Jeep Gladiator legal in California?

General rule in CA is that it has to be replaced by an engine of the same original size or by a CARB exempt one. I installed a carb exempt “E-Rod” LS3 in my 1977 Trans Am and have passed the initial ref and ongoing smog checks 3 times now. For some dumb reason they limit it to being...
  12. KO3 or Ridge Grappler

The Ridge Grappler looks much better if you care about looks. It has been a decent tire for me but its traction off the line when it’s wet out honestly isn’t fantastic. I have to feather the throttle a bit in those circumstances. It’s heavy too. The Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T seems to...
  13. Stellantis Q4 2024 (and Jeep Gladiator) Sales Numbers / Figures

Stellantis does for sure suck. But we all need to revolt when the average new car price is now $50k. Time to actually retain our cars and fix them when issues crop up instead of buying new vehicles every few years.
  14. Getting Rear Ended - 3 Times

My Gladiator is the first vehicle I’ve had someone rear end me in while I was sitting stopped at a traffic light. Moron on his cell phone and without insurance. Good news is that I just needed a new tow hook while he had his car totaled.
  15. Do Gladiators Ride Smoother Than Wranglers?

My Wrangier experience is dated but I also agree that the Gladiator Mojave rides and handles very nicely.
  16. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Did my first oil change today (easy to remember to do it on New Year’s as I never get over the mileage limits or hit 100% on the oil monitor within 12 months). I had the Jeep Wave oil changes the prior times. Now I think I may regret that as there was way more than 5 quarts drained out of it...
  17. Instrument Panels Ain't What They Used to Be (Another Rant from a Curmudgeon)

I still have a 1977 Trans Am. It’s pretty quick to see if something’s wrong. I added 3 console gauges to see oil temp, fuel pressure and trans temp too. However it doesn’t have a tire pressure display - which is what I tend to leave up most of the time as that’s what I’m usually most...
  18. Let's have a conversation about inflation...

You can contact the tire manufacturers as well. Sent Nitto an email with the specs on my Gladiator with 315/70r17 E load Ridge Grapplers and they recommended 35 psi. Pleasantly surprised they ride more comfortably than my 33” Falken C load M/Ts.
  19. Official: Scout EV Pickup & SUV debut w/ Gas Range Extender, 4x4, BOF, Lockers, Sway Bar Disconnect -- All Specs, Wallpapers, Videos

Nice - I think I could live with that top option. This definitely has me thinking about it down the road.
  20. Official: Scout EV Pickup & SUV debut w/ Gas Range Extender, 4x4, BOF, Lockers, Sway Bar Disconnect -- All Specs, Wallpapers, Videos

Curious what the “removable cabana roof” entails exactly. That sliding top I assume is just on the SUV? Looks interesting for sure. Never had a VW nor any interest in them before though and I’m also curious how the service will work.
