Take it in to the dealership and have them take all the photos they want to document it. They’ll tell you what they want you to do after that.
My dealership did this and had me go right away across town to their auto body shop where they too took their own photos. Keep an eye on those edges...
About the oil consumption thing, I have two stories to tell ya’ll.
I had this issue explained to me by two service managers at two different dealerships. The first time I was made privy to a consumption issue, a customer came in to say his gladiator was consuming 5L in a 10k km oil change...
Reputation alone is all we have to be known by but you don’t want to be that guy who’s reputation becomes nothing because he’s well known to weaponize it to belittle, shame, discount and slight others all while grandstanding his greatness and achievements. That doesn’t answer anything and goes...
You need a min 5psi in there and yes, I too have the Air Lift 1000’s in the back of my 21 JTR and when I’m loaded down with the wife, Dane and all the camping gear, I put the bags to 25 psi. They will take 30 but I stop at 25. It makes a huge difference and will play interference with the...
Missing the breather end on the transmission breather tube and if you were hoping for the top heat shield for the engine, forget it, your engine doesn’t need a cover to trap heat in. I tossed mine.
I’ve never done this except when I brought it home for the first time brand new in February 2021. I’m now at 106k kms. My front tires haven’t done the Jeep wave thang yet.
So my understanding with chalk testing is that if you’re seeking long life and even wear with your tire, chaulk testing and of course frequent and religious rotating is essential. So I’ve done both and did very well with having long life experience with the KO2’s.
Now the KO3’s are a bit...
Concerning my KO3’s and having put on 3-4K kms on them, these are my first 12 ply F rated tire… I didn’t have a choice to get the E rated ones when I upsized to the 315/70/17. I’m trying to set the PSI via chalk testing and this is the first time I’ve payed attention to the range of temperatures...
That’s what I like about them too. I can get full warranty service anywhere they are, it’s why I get my treads from them. Why would I buy tires, lets say, from a dealership that’s blowing them out at cost when I can’t go to that same manufacturer dealership in another town or province/state and...
Out of convenience I’ll give the regular balance system a chance to hit it right the first time and the second time. After that, it’s go to the dealership and have the road force balance done. I’ve known one sales guy at the dealership I’ve gone to that’s “the tire guy” because he managed a KAL...
I smelled “hot” coolant on mine too for 1 solid year and couldn’t for the life of me, find it. I searched all over, would keep topping it up and even pulled the rad fan and grill out to have a good look at the rad and hose it clean. I would smell it again and wouldn’t you know…it was leaking at...
I’m at the dealership getting my 5 KO3’s road force balanced because of a very slight shimmy felt at 100km/hour and quite shaky at 120. The tire store rebalanced twice to no avail, hence getting the road force balance.
The tech came out to say one tire can not be balanced due to it being “out...
The “tire place” won’t go back to manufacture and raise a warrantable claim for you? They must see there was a defect in making them. The PSI sounds about right. I chaulk tested mine to 32 up front and 30 in the back. I wanted the 315/75/17 but could only get the 70/17 but I’ve been back twice...
Do you have lockers and did you end up inspecting the locker sensor and cleaning the magnet under it? How did it engage before and how does it respond now? Maybe you don’t have lockers so it’s all a moot point.
I haven’t read much at all from others doing this diff maintenance part.
So, just cuz I could, I looked up my weather app and saw there was a good headwind from the north west so I jumped in the truck and drove 19 kms to Cochrane and took a photo of my gas mileage. I then drove all the way back and took another photo of the mileage with a tail wind. You can say I...
About a week following the calibration, I get the service contract from FCA congratulating me for coming in to have this done. We know at least one dealership up here can do it. They calibrated my last set of tires too which were the KO2’s 285/75/17.
