Send an oil sample in and have it analyzed. Look at real hard data to tell you when you should change your oil.
My 21 JTR @74k kms (46k miles)
2 engines, 3 power steering pumps, truck is now in getting the 4th transmission.
My loaner 2022 Gladiator Sport, 8 speed auto I am driving now with 6k kms has the same, but faint whine in 1st and 2nd gear and a front bearing howl between 68-72 km/hour.
It has...
Several mistakes happened.
1. the crate engine came with 6 L in it. My understanding is that engines that are shipped do not have oil in them and this one already came overfilled by 1 L.
2. the tech assumed it came empty and didnāt look.
3. the tech put in 6 L when it should have been 5. Thereās...
I have 35k kms on the engine and just over 5k kms on the oil sample.
Jury is out as to where Iām leaning but I think having done that first 1500 km trip on the brand new engine with 12L of oil in it had a negative effect on it. But itās only reading bad at the iron levels. Iām super pleased with...
UPDATE: Truck went in to investigate the 1st and 2nd gear whine in the 8 speed and just received a call to say the transmission is getting replaced. Complete internal failure. This will be my 4th transmission in 74k kms.
We been dry up here in Calgary and with that dry dusty air weāve also had massive forest fires west of us in BC and north in mid to upper Alberta. Our skies have been thick with smoke so bad my eyes and lungs hurt. With that said, (and I know how you feel about oiled K$N filters) I run one, and...
My 2 cents here is to write how I would feel if I saw those #ās in my report and Iād be changing again early in hopes to lower the metals like aluminum, copper, iron, chromium and silicon. I know changing early will result in lower numbers but my point is if your higher levels are in suspension...
At least I know when the lights go out, I donāt have to worry if my gladiator is still there. I can stumble my way to the garage in the dark and feel around a bit and then give it a real big hug to know for sure I still have it.
Yes I did. I also read tons of discussions on deleting it but I figured the issues we were having with the aux battery system rested squarely on the mopar aux battery, not on the system that was designed. So my battery purchases were done at Lordco and they carried two brands, AC Delco and this...
I donāt have the gas but I do have a tape measure. Last month, both batteries came out, I measured the cavity space where the small main battery sat and picked up the largest Optima battery that would fit that space with only an inch space to spare on the long side. I also upgraded the aux...
UPDATE: 21 JTR, 30k kms on the 3rd transmission. The whine I mentioned in 1st and 2nd gear from new, has morphed into a āzingā spooling kinda sound in 1st gear before the whine is heard.
I pulled an oil sample out for the lab last week and they highlighted IRON @151ppm, COPPER @166ppm and...
Keep in mind that the locker sensor magnet will have the same amount on it too. If you notice it takes a while for the lockers to engage or disengage, itās because of that.
Good to know. Thanks for that bit of info.
Iāve listened to BDSās āno fine printā warranty and they have this motto that says āput them on and abuse itā, anything that fails is replaced⦠Why are you getting shafted? Is it just the people you need help from are taking things personal or have...
