  1. New Mexico Sold: Magnuson supercharger for JT /JL for sale.

Installed February 2022, never run more than 100 miles due to tuning issues. Removed for motor replacement and will not be installed again. You can search my posts and ask Dave about the tuning issues we had. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the kit, aside from missing small pieces that...
  2. Anyone have high idle issues?

I did get mine running. It ended up being the tune. @DAVECS1 got me up and running.
  3. Anyone have high idle issues?

AFAIK they are all connected. I took my Magnuson off with the bad engine and it is not going back on. The purge is back on top of the engine and I think everything is back together.
  4. Anyone have high idle issues?

Wow. Glad to hear you got it fixed. So I have this brand new engine and it has the high idle issues. I have tried two different TBs and same results. Drives like a stocker with an exhaust otherwise. Park and neutral are the only issues. I’m stumped. I removed/reinstalled and re-torqued the upper...
  5. Anyone have high idle issues?

Did you ever get this fixed? I have tried two throttle bodies on a BRAND NEW engine that I replaced due to the Magnuson (long other topic story). I had bought one for the new motor and it was “lightly used”. Looks absolutely brand new. Same issue. High idle. Drives fine. Throws P0507. Took that...
  6. [need help] downgrading GPEC5 ECM/Harness hardware to GPEC2a?

Dave, the new engine I just put in my JT had the GPEC5 connector at the computer but the engine harness was identical in every way. I pinned that one out and even the colors of the wiring was an exact match. My opinion is that the harness going from the back of the left head is all that needs...
  7. AlfaOBD talk

I had the cheapest Amazon bypass I found for the application and I already had the dongle, which is the “OBDLINK MX+”. I don’t use the bypass for this Jeep anymore since I have the HPTuners bypass that has the dual OBD ports. I still believe the Alfaobd is hands down the best choice for any...
  8. The good and the bad of a roots supercharger.

Well I can say it is NOT ONE BIT as underpowered as my 2009 JKUR. I have several vehicles that have “power”. I wrench on my own stuff and drive it like I own it (not the bank). Glad you’re having good luck, but trust me that’s all it is.
  9. The good and the bad of a roots supercharger.

I have a pristine set of cams as well. The only things I didn’t need to replace when I finally pulled it back apart. I believe I need at least two pistons but I won’t know for sure until the block gets yanked.
  10. The good and the bad of a roots supercharger.

I think that with millions of these engines out there that haven’t crapped the bed at 11k mikes, I just got a bad one. Badly built. To its credit, I have actually been trying to get it to come apart and it won’t. Dave’s tuning has a great deal of protection built in. Anywho, who would like to...
  11. The good and the bad of a roots supercharger.

I can appreciate your experience with your Gladiator but mine has gone downhill since I started it the first time after installation of the Magnuson. It was an absolute dream up until that day. Now everything I have done has been for nothing. It knocks/ticks/smokes blue smoke and now the rear...
  12. The good and the bad of a roots supercharger.

I can say, with 1000% certainty, you and anyone else running a Magnuson should uninstall it ASAP. My 21 Mojave is basically been rendered useless by this installation. I have been without daily use of my Jeep since the day it was bolted on. Between the ridiculous variance in tuning between same...
  13. I am not done!

Glad to hear it! I’m still waiting on parts to put my short block back together. If it starts back up without rattling I will be ready to get it running right whenever you are.
  14. Mark another one dead

Whatever it is my engine knocks like it has no oil in it. Luckily it has maybe 100 miles on it since the Magnuson install. What would be iron/steel and not be the brand new cams/lash adjusters/followers/phasers??? I did have the wrong lash adjusters on bank 1, and the VVL solenoids all looked...
  15. Magnuson TVS1900 Kit Available Now

    Mine did
. Wiped rod bearings. All 4 cams, all lash adjuster, all cam followers, all phasers, all VVL solenoids replaced. My issue is a combination of a ridiculous amount of blowby (thanks CAFE for the low tension rings) and shitty assembly in Mexico (Saltillo Plant). My engine has been full of...
  16. Mark another one dead

    This

wiped rod bearings??? And more Three Bond. It was pretty over-applied to the lower pan.
  17. Mark another one dead

Mine is on the stock Magnuson pulley so not much. I don’t blame the tune in any way, shape, or form. This is a re-engineered minivan motor and I should have known better. My 2009 JKUR, with an even worse example of a motor, has 160k miles, and gets beat on in the mountains. My son’s ‘99 XJ has...
  18. Mark another one dead

Same here. It’s a “modern flat-tappet” POS to me as of now.
  19. Mark another one dead

To those that have watched the video I posted, any ideas as to the sound/origin??
  20. Mark another one dead

@DAVECS1 , I literally just sent you an email and now see this. Can you pm me or email me a factory tune so I can pull the Magnuson out and fix my engine? It’s obviously hurt and has not been daily driven since March. To others that don’t know, Dave has been working on my ‘21 Mojave since March...
