I just replaced mine yesterday, 2 weeks after replacing the ignition coils and spark plugs
I just wasn't sure if the reason for the adapter was the housing or the filter sucks.
I doubt you've had your doors off recently but the easiest solution would be to check for bent pins.
Considering its been colder around here (I'm in PA) than in Alaska, I'd check for any bent/frayed/broken wires in the wiring harness for the door. My proximity locks stopped working b/c of...
For anyone coming across this, if you've already done the work to replace ignition coils, spark plugs, remove the valve cover, etc, do future your a favor and replace the oil filter housing while you're at it. It's literally staring at you.
Mine cracked a few weeks after replacing the coils...
@Roosterblue313 have you thought about having the shocks rebuilt? Or if you know someone with a Mojave that's willing to swap shocks for a ride around the block, that could help the process of elimination.
I have a 2021 Mojave and my shocks squeaked and screamed like a banshee, even driving...
Ok I have to ask...where did you get the rebuild kit? And the DIY nitrogen kit?
When I first started looking a few yrs ago, I had a better chance of breaking into Ft Knox than finding that kit...or even part numbers!
Check the wiring harness on the door. The wires are prone to cracking/splitting/breaking from basic use (opening and closing).
Strip the wrapping about 6-8" back and you may see some fraying/splitting. Happened to me too when my proximity locks stopped working.
Its a 2021 Mojave with about 68k-ish. I went with the aFe coils and NGK-brand spark plugs from Rock Auto. Not sure on the quality of the plugs but its in the premium section under Rock Auto. Maybe I'm a sucker
I swapped out all the coils and spark plugs b/c I figured I had done all this...
Hey @Hootbro...just wanted to thank you for the help. I finally finished the ignition coils and spark plugs last week sometime, luckily before the snow and deep freeze. I still had a hell of a time battling the elements as I had to work around my wife's work schedule. But I got 'er done slowly...
I recently got the P0300 series of CEL (I think it was P0306 to denote the misfire was cyclinder #6). I didn't know my ass from my elbow and decided to tackle this myself. I swapped out all of the ignition coils and spark plugs.
Looking back, it wasn't bad. The worst of it was doing it outside...
Here's what I got back from PPE. They can't confirm with each and every skid plate out there but they sent me dimensions and measurements for both of their high capacity pans (diesel and gas).
Hope this helps!
Crap! I ordered the expanded capacity pan and completely forgot that I have a skid plate!
I'm hoping the weather warms up to above freezing and I'll keep you posted. Otherwise, I'll call PPE directly and see if they have any info...
You are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you!
I read quickly through some of the posts but it seems like bad cams aren’t necessarily associated with the ticking sound. Is that right?
I've never purchased any of Extreme Terrain's lights but I've bought a ton of stuff from them. They're customer service is pretty stellar.
Have you reached out to them yet? I wouldn't be surprised if they ship you out a new pair...
