  1. Sport shocks on Mojave temporary

This was the route I took. Ironically, I'm dropping mine off to get rebuilt later this week. This way, you have no downtime and no loss of how the Mojave rides.
  2. Sport shocks on Mojave temporary

That I’m unsure of. I know there are a ton of posts about retrofitting shocks onto the Mojave. But I’m hoping someone responds to your question before you go down THAT rabbit hole.
  3. Sport shocks on Mojave temporary

As @JmattNYC mentioned, the top mounting bolts on the Mojave are different than all other trim lines. I'm not 100% but I think the Mojave is 14mm vs 12mm on the others. That'll be the biggest issue. Accutune sells a retrofit kit. Trying to find part numbers and sizes of the bushings/sleeves is...
  4. Headed to Iowa

I read this too. Those walls are very cool! Unfortunately, most of them are very west of Des Moines. Maybe we can swing by these on our next trip to Colorado or Moab...
  5. Headed to Iowa

Haha this is awesome. Will do. He's in the old guy division (aka Masters) so it gives me hope I can still compete in a decade...
  6. Tent Trailer for weekend adventures

Finally got around to finishing my build…kinda. Let’s be honest…are we ever really done!? šŸ˜‚ Thanks to this thread, I’m sure I’ll be adding a thing or 3. Added the wood floor and walls, as I still use it as a utility trailer. My buddy finished my fenders just in time for our trip to Iowa. Had...
  7. Headed to Iowa

Headed to Iowa first weekend in June. Yes, headed there on purpose. Good friend is competing in Strongman Nationals so we figured to take some time afterwards to explore on our way back home to PA. I found a GPX file of a semi-Trans Iowa Trail but wasn't sure if there was anything close to Des...
  8. Advice on chase Light format/output style for Baja Designs S2?

Completely agree with @Bandit’s Lair. You don't want something overpowering to blind the people following you or the people at camp. I have BD on my JT so I'm kind of partial to them. They have a few options for work/scene lights...
  9. Best “water bob” for bed of Gladiator? Bulk water storage

For your JT needs, I've been eyeing these for a bit: https://www.ironman4x4.com/collections/water-tanks I may need to swap out the water tank in the RV so I may be looking at these even more in the near future. As for home use, you may want to see if anyone is selling (or getting rid of) IBC...
  10. USB ports in Bed...

Just food for thought... Think about any additional "appliances" you want to run in the future: camping fridges, air compressors, etc. Not sure of your hobbies but maybe go more robust wiring, just in case...
  11. Rooftop tents: profile and weight concerns/considerations

I agree with @Neomonk21. Get the larger tent. If it means I'm getting a much better night's sleep, I'm ok with 30 extra lbs and some extra room, especially since I'm most likely using some sort of hoist system to remove the tent anyway. The extra room will also come in handy if you do any...
  12. Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway

They have an annual event/ride coming up in May (maybe 5/15). I think this year, they're showcasing an expanded route that some groups local to the area have been working on clearing. I think the algorithm pushes these videos hard starting around late Feb. I'm just trying to avoid crowds...and...
  13. Check engine light after installing Pulsar XT engine tuner

I'm with @rharr...what's the code? If you're hell bent on just clearing it, disconnect the negative battery cable and let it sit for 10-15 min. It should reset the memory. Just an FYI: the check engine light might come back.
  14. Mojave shocks upgrades recommendations?

I'm in the same boat as you. I decided to get a second set of Mojave shocks so I can run those while the first set get rebuilt. If you're looking to get them replaced or upgraded, you're looking at close to $3k. Rebuilding them may run you a couple hundred each, especially if you find someone...
  15. Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway

I'm in the process of planning a trip to KY to drive the DBBB. I was planning for March but the other drive and I decided the weather wouldn't be the best. It'll still be cold at night and the increasing chance of rain, increasing the water levels. Anyone know the condition of the trail and...
  16. Reputable mechanic in 10950 area … front end help

You can also contact any local Jeep groups/clubs and see if they recommend anyone. Normally, there’s usually one mechanic in the Jeep clubs.
  17. Reputable mechanic in 10950 area … front end help

Hey! I'm originally from Rockland County and have lived in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. My go-to shop for anything Jeep related is Mad Dog Service in Portchester, NY. I know its a bit of a drive for you but Jon is very good at what he does. If I think of anyone else, I'll let you know!
  18. Mojave Lift AEV or something else

I've read nothing but great things regarding the AEV lift for the Mojave. I've even looked at it myself, ultimately deciding 2" is a but much for my needs. I have also read people using different geometry brackets for sturdier options. I want to say Fabtech was one of the options. That being...
  19. Death Wobble

Yes, I'm replying to my own post! I failed to mention one more thing. If any shop mentions or suggests changing to the steering stabilizer, death wobble your way to another shop. The steering stabilizer isn't meant to fix or minimize DW.
  20. Death Wobble

Between my JK and my JT, my go-to checklist is the following: 1) check tire PSI 2) make sure tires are balanced 3) check to make sure suspension components are torqued to specs and not worn 4) check the ball joints I understand this list is probably incomplete but its a good general list to...
