Hey all, I have a Mojave with 55k km. I’ve got a line on some super cheap sport shocks. Wondering if it’s worth picking them up for the inevitable rebuild on the Foxes.
Can they be made to fit for a few weeks?
Thanks!

Get some cheaper fox JKS shocks or ranchos. You should be fine as long as they are correct size for your lift. I would also double check what ever shocks to see fitment with mojava. I know it sounds strange but the mojava seems to always have fitment quirks

As @JmattNYC mentioned, the top mounting bolts on the Mojave are different than all other trim lines. I'm not 100% but I think the Mojave is 14mm vs 12mm on the others. That'll be the biggest issue.

Accutune sells a retrofit kit. Trying to find part numbers and sizes of the bushings/sleeves is a giant PIA.

Thank you! Can’t I just drill out the bushing in the sport shocks if my mounting bolt is bigger? Only needs to hold up for a few weeks of light use.

That I’m unsure of. I know there are a ton of posts about retrofitting shocks onto the Mojave.

But I’m hoping someone responds to your question before you go down THAT rabbit hole.

Trying to drill out a bushing mounted in rubber sounds like a bad idea.
Yeah looking at pics…. Probably not.
Wonder if the bushing sleeve is the same size for both, then I could steal the stock fox bushings ?

Have you called them? Blake was a great guy to deal with.

I would call AllTerrain and see if you can get a guaranteed date they will overhaul your shocks and hold off removing/shipping until about 7-10 days prior and live without your Gladiator for a week or so until you receive the shocks back. Probably will reserve you a rebuild date if you pay in advance.
Another option is to purchase a set of used JT Mojave take-off Fox shocks (in my opinion the best option). I just drove 12 hours to pick up a complete set of used JT Mojave take-off Fox shocks with 16K miles on them for $500 USD to use as a spare set. I will rebuild the 16K mile shocks and when my original shocks need a rebuild swap them in during the rebuild phase.

This was the route I took. Ironically, I'm dropping mine off to get rebuilt later this week.

This way, you have no downtime and no loss of how the Mojave rides.

This was my plan until I found Blake. I ended up selling him my spare set instead of the multiple shipments. Worked out great. 😊
