Mine went back a week later after the oil cooler seal was replaced and timing chain cover reseal. It was still leaking oil, they ordered me a new oil cooler thinking its warpped. They also broke my fuel injector during the first repair. Who knows how long it will be to get the parts.. I rented...
  2. Rubicon braking by itself... HELP!

It would throw a code and light up your ABS dash light etc if it was ABS (or traction control). When braking or with my foot off the brake coasting I can feel my JTR downshift and it feels like braking. In your options you can select to see your gear that you are in, it shows up next to your...

  4. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

Just by removing items doesn't necessarily mean you increase flow over a surface. Directing air (controlling) flow does this in the most efficient way.
  5. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

Is the problem the size or the intercooler or the amount of air passing through it? We know Jeep cut the towing capacity because the air flow efficiency of the front grill (cooling).
  6. US Forest Service may close Black Bear Pass

I saw this on a Colorado Jeep page. A lot of the people in Telluride want the trails shutdown, its been going on for years. Ouray and Silverton fight them all the time with a lot of the Colorado 4x4 groups.
  7. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

As EGTs rises, the turbo gets hotter and the oil moving through the turbo picks up the heat. This is a side effect of the high EGTs also. Lowering your oil temps will not fix the high EGTs and stop the pulling of fuel if its really high EGTs. Thats all I'm saying. I realize derating is a thing...
  8. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

The OP was talking about loss of performance. Its sounds tyical of high exhaust gas temperature (EGT-temperature of the exhaust leaving the combustion chamber). The computer is dialing back power (pulling fuel) to lower the EGT. You cannot see the EGTs with the stock interface. High EGT can be...

"Corrected at 1:39 p.m. ET on 12/09/2021: This article previously stated that Black Bear Pass was at risk of closing due to proposed zoning changes in the GMUG National Forests. The Forest Service reached out to clarify that these potential plans will not close existing designated routes, adding...
  10. Ouray Jamboree 2022

I debated it for a hot minute but 825 per family is crazy for 2 days of "guided" trails and 6 meals. I have done most of the trails they listed and if you have off-road experience none are a issue at all. I will go up in late July and do trails with friends and save 525, have way better meals...

  14. Should I go Rubicon or Mojave?

You don't think Trac-Lok® Anti-Spin Rear Differential option will do it for you? I started out with it on my JKU Sport and did a lot of trails like Imogene, Engineer, Stoney, Cinnamon pass, Cork Screw, California Gulch, Yankee Boy, Red Mountian, and a bunch more here in Colorado without a problem.
  15. Should I go Rubicon or Mojave?

I'm not sure what the draw of the Mojava is unless you want to prerunner it in the deseret. Its does have a reenforced frame and steel knuckles but its heavier, slower, has less tow rating, and cost more. I wheel out west in the mountians so the Rubican with high crawl ratio, front sway bar...
