Is this cheating?;)
My JT actually replaced an F250 when I got a bigger boat that I didnāt want to tow. 31 ft Chaparral 307 with a 10.5 ft beam, pretty sure the Jeep isnāt pulling THAT.
Great thread! The oldest I go is a TJ, which I miss badly. My youngest son and I (now 12) are conspiring on buying one and 5.7 Hemi swapping for him to drive, donāt tell the wife! Hereās a couple of crappy pics, the hood bra was tossed in the trash asap after I bought it. Bonus one of my ā10...
Tires for sure, the crappy stock Mojave AT tires are LOUD and only at 20k miles. Iāll be swapping them onto my teenage sonās Pathfinder soon and upgrading to BFG AT, which in my experience stay pretty quiet as they wear. Second for me is definitely the hard top, I rode in a friendās JKU...
Everybody who takes the āfreeā government money will get taxed elsewhere to compensate. Just go into it with eyes wide open, nothing is free. Much like how government āfreeā Covid money is a big driver of our current inflation situation.
You do realize that itās your tax money providing those tax credits, right? And they are taxing more elsewhere to offset what they are giving away? Just wanted to affirm that nothing is āfreeā, ultimately we are ALWAYS the ones who pay for it.
Exactly, itās a Motortrend jackhole drawing...
Ha! I called a few that had some sort of BS protection package that was basically $2k of tacked on profit thatās ārequiredā. Go eff yourself buddy, Iāll find another dealer that doesnāt play that game.
For the wheel, I would look into the cost of just having yours professionally wrapped with new leather. It would give that thicker feel, probably be higher quality leather, and you wouldnāt be stuck with orange stitching.
The only reason I have a V6 is because I wanted the manual. The V6 is my least favorite thing about the JT. Itās gutless down low, doesnāt like to rev, and generally lacks punch throughout the rev range. It is a terrible engine for a truck or Jeep. Even with my 4.10 Mojave I can barely use...
I love my Mojave but that makes zero sense to me. Youāve already upgraded the suspension on yours, which is most of the value of buying a Mojave. The additional reinforcements are great but will you ever notice? 4.10 is an upgrade but Iām already thinking of 4.56 or 4.88 and I am still on...
Thatās a good one too. We do our boating at Lake of the Ozarks so I like seeing some love given to the area, even though he seems to be more in AR than MO.
I cross shopped the JT with the Colorado ZR2. I found the ZR2 Multimatic shocks to be supernatural, and the rest of the truck to be crap. The front seats were horrendous, my wife and I both wanted out after 10 minutes. Rear seats are very small, overall interior quality is crap, V6 is mediocre...
Iāve already wasted one trip to my dealership and they were unable to duplicate the issue. Considering this appears to be an issue across multiple Wrangler and Gladiator models I would think some information or knowledge would exist on the topic. Until I can conclusively duplicate the issue...
Update, Iāve done a lot of trial and error with HVAC settings and it doesnāt seem to make any difference at all. I rode with a friend in his late model JKU Rubicon with the V6 and manual transmission over the weekend and it makes the same sound. He said itās been doing it forever and it bugs...
Oooh fun, Iāll play!
Wheels larger than 17ā look stupid, extra bonus points for 20ā+
Angry grilles and lights are even worse
The measure of a man isnāt how badly he has body damaged a $50k truck
Tires shouldnāt poke out beyond the fenders
Every problem with your truck isnāt just āa Jeep...
More power with a manual transmission would have me considering an upgrade. Otherwise I love my truck.
If Iām really being picky it would be nice to have an a-pillar mirror option from the factory, rear roof panels that remove independent from the sides, door or roof panel storage provisions...
