So more extensive research shows the front is no problem, it's the fire wall side that is. Not insurmountable, but not plug and play.
FWIW, I am a "weight kills" off roader and it has served me well. My Billy goats climb things others are surprised at and it's based on this philosophy: one...
Every internet jock on this thread with a 3.6 needs go out, open their hood and measure the 7+ inches from the actual engine block to the back of the fan please. With different motor mounts this engine will fit. Period.
I agree, however they are available crate. Surely someone has done one by now? I can't find one online.

Spent a week in a Wagoneer L with the 420hp I6. Holy flat torque curve. That big SUV was damn near spry. Plus I crossed the Nevada desert at 90 and got 18mpg.
I'm not sure why I don't we don't see people putting them in Gladiators yet. Google doesn't show much. The dimensions aren't a...
Weight in the back is a double edged sword. The more you have in the back the more difficult is to bring back under control when it does break loose. I like a light rear end that is easy to control. Might be the race car driver in me.
OP sounds like practice is your best friend. Take it out...
I scored some slick AEV wheels and want to put AT's on them and just keep my MT set with the trashed wheels for well, wheeling. I had Faulken AT's but they got so loud on the highway after 15-20kk miles. My general experience is that aggressive tread tires get louder as they wear. Anyone find...
I can only chime in that I will do mine every 50k because the ZF6 in my other truck started acting up right at 100k when the "lifetime" was up. Clunky shifting, etc. The fluid was trash at 100k. I looked at those forums and they all said the lifetime is bunk and do it every 50-75k.
That stinks but at least it looks like mostly surface rust. I dragged my Gladiator over every rock in NW PA last summer on a wheeling trip and it looked like that in many places. I power washed and then fluid filmed the underside (one can is enough) and it is holding up very well.
Been dying for something like this, so much so that I was thinking of just tapping my stock sliders and attaching a step I cut off something else. I have to say not a huge fan of the angular shape that looks more like it would go with a cybertruck but probably wouldnt prevent me from ordering them.
It's funny when I tow the TJ from here right next to West Chester to the Catskills I always get 12 going up and 13.5 going back. I thought it was the elevation but never thought about the gas.
I think you are spot on to change the fluid and filter first and see if that helps. I believe it will from experience with many other vehicles in this type of situation.
I added a second hook after my first bumper got smashed on my overland and I picked up a like new OEM one on FB. I then had two hooks and so just had to cut a hole in the other side of the new one to put on the second hook.
Having a second hook is extremely useful for making bridles, etc. I...
I've hit two deer with my stubby this year alone and had no issues with this. (They have been crazy in PA this year) The bumper sticks out far enough in front of the fenders (at least mine does) that wherever the deer is at impact they are absolutely tossed like a sack of potatoes before they...
When I ordered my Gobi with the brown seats my dealer thought I was crazy but the moment it arrived he changed his tune. It looks great, zero regrets. Outdated pic of the girl but you get the idea.
The other bottom line is: it doesn't really matter if you CAN tow above 6,000 because I can tell you you won't WANT to tow anything heavier especially if it has a large frontal area.
Data point of 1 but the 100k mi LR4 fluid was absolutely SHOT at that mileage with no abnormal use, now the LR4 is a little heavier than the JT but no way I would go near 100k again.
There are lots of people who flush their ZF's on the BMW, Rover and Jag forums via the cooler lines because this allows you to also get the fluid out of the torque converter (all the fluid). If you just drain and fill you only get about 60% of the fluid or something like that.
That said, I did...
It looks like you got the tiny bit of sway I got when using one of those #2200 Uhaul trailers. I finally bought my own at almost half the weight.
As I always say, you can easily tow over 7k with a JT: you will feel very safe but you won't win any uphill races.
Every time I roll into a Jeep...
