I was a little worried about that with the Ranger, but he drove it pretty hard on the street (which is where I think he would have had the biggest issue), and it didn't really seem to be too "tippy". Completely different vehicle, I know, but still. Anyway, just a random thought after the lift...
Question is, do I need to run the sway bar at all? For comparison (not really a comparison, but just something we did on a whim) we pulled the sway bay and links off my son's 99 Ranger. Just took the whole thing out. Seemed to drive just fine.
Looking at the sway bar on the jeep, it looks...
Final update. We did the rear shocks this weekend. Other than no instructions, not too bad of an install.
As usual, the first side (passenger) took forever. Just trying to figure out the best way to get the new shock installed. First pro tip - get a good pair of snips and trip up the fender...
Ok all, here's the update. We put the floor jack under the frame and took it up just a bit and dropped the scissor jack a turn and the new springs slipped right in. Unfortunately, we forgot to put the new bump stops in, so we had to redo the springs. Turns out the kit RC sent had the wrong bolt...
Ok, need new help. How do I get the track bar to re align?
This is super critical, as the wife is starting to get pissed!!
Help a brother out if you can
My main concern right now, besides getting this done today, is I couldn't disconnect the drive shaft. I can't keep it from turning as I try to un-bolt it. Is this going to be a problem?
I might be able to get the passenger side dropped enough to get the spring in. I hope. I've got a floor jack...
Thanks. Problem is, I tried lowering one side, and the brake rotor is only an inch off the floor. I guess I'll lower it all the way and use a spring compressor.
Wish I had a lift, but oh well.
I decided on the RC hd sliders for a couple of reasons. First, I love the look.. Second, the actually bolt to the frame. Third, they don't hang down. Fourth, did I mention they look awesome!
First up, delivery. They came packed fairly well, although whoever the shipper was did their best to...
In a jam and need some help with two things.
1) How do I keep the drive shaft from turning while trying to un-bolt it?
2) Just how low can I drop the front suspension to get the new spring in, seems like it's an awful long way? Or are my jack stands just too short?
Pics once it's done...
So, when I was looking for wheels for the 'stang, I was referred to an ebay site and scored a set of wheels that were mounted for a photo op. $375 for a set of 4 that ran $375 per wheels. They're mounted and look outstanding. They came almost completely flawless. The only issue was a couple of...
5'-10", so I get out easy enough. And most of the time it's not an issue. But with the snow and slush, gotta be careful at work.
Surprised I didn't see the "If you keep it clean / wash it" answer. But then, this is the JT forum, not the Mustang forum ?
Not related to which lift is best, can I get away with a cheap one, do I really need one to fit 40s or any other of the usual questions.
For those of you that are higher than stock height, how do you keep the back of your pant legs from getting dirty? Serious question as I drive mine every day...
I'm, the 3.6 is okay. That is until I jumped in the 'stang the other day. Damn!!! Made my day rowing the gears on the way to Mexico. "Might" have hit triple digits on the entrance ramp. The JT is slug. But's supposed to be. Low end torque at low speeds. The mustang in the other hand, loves...
