  1. Gladiator gas octane?

If your engine is not tuned for a higher octane fuel there is no benefit and you could potentially not burn up all the fuel leading to a slight drop in gas mileage and increase in pollution and fuel deposits. Higher octane gas is not cleaner and does not make more power. In fact higher octane...
  2. ORDERED BLACK FENDER FLARES - BUILT BODY COLOR ..

The 23 S package is what makes it a Sport S. When you order a Sport or Sport S it starts off as a Sport and then they add a package ending in either B or S to make it the base Sport with roll up windows or the Sport S with power windows. So you never select 23S as a package, you get it when...
  3. Why not buy a full size truck for the same price?

I was primarily responding to where you said this: Those who don't like the "features" are VERY vocal about it, shaming those of us who do like those features. I was pointing out that not all of those who don't want features are shaming you for wanting them. Some of us just want the option...
  4. Why not buy a full size truck for the same price?

But some people do not want those options and would not buy the truck at the new higher price if they were included. There are lots of us that don't want the options but don't care if you get them. We just like to have the choice to pay less and not have the things we don't want. Jeeps are...
  5. What are your thoughts on the likelihood of a true base model?

The last time they made a Wrangler without 4x4 it created a lot of dissatisfied customers who didn't realize they bought a Jeep without 4x4. I suspect it would be the same with the Gladiator. It isn't worth the hit to public opinion from buyers that didn't pay attention. You can get a Sport...
  6. Did you buy a Jeep that is a truck or a truck that is a Jeep?

Yes. I bought a Jeep that is a truck. I also bought a truck that is a Jeep.
  7. Check Your Insurance Coverage

Yeah unfortunately most states have pretty low required liability limits. Like they set the limits low and then didn't touch them for decades so now they are insanely low in some places. There's like one state where you only need $5k in coverage to be legal. And no insurance company will pay...
  8. Check Your Insurance Coverage

Listen more closely to the wording of the commercials. It's customers who switched saved an average of $xxx. Now of course you aren't going to switch if it costs more, so anyone that would have gotten a rate increase is excluded from that statistic. Also most people won't bother switching for...
  9. Check Your Insurance Coverage

Depending on the insurance company's guidelines, the state laws, and the contract they may: - Just cancel your policy after the accident so the claim gets paid but you are given a cancellation notice letting you know they will not be insuring you anymore after some date in the future (usually...
  10. Well This Happened Tonight

In this situation police don't determine fault, insurance does. While a police report would potentially influence their decision they often decide things different then the police do because there are different rules for financial liability then there are for being cited by the police. For...
  11. Going MY2020 for Gobi

Yeah, mine was ordered in January and built in February and got LSD. But I think I ordered right after they made the switch, just not sure if I made the cutoff by days or weeks. So I assume the switch was likely Dec 2019 or early Jan 2020. But I have no data points other then in mid Jan when...
  12. Going MY2020 for Gobi

Early Sports with the max tow package were all open diff, LSD was added to builds sometime in late 2019 or early 2020.
  13. Going MY2020 for Gobi

The new steering box is steel so they had to paint it, the old one was aluminum so they left it bare metal. So if it's silver it's the old one and if it's black it's the new one.
  14. Parade Driving- Manual Transmission

Isn't that how you are supposed to parallel park? I mean it would be silly to park like that in a parking lot. In parking lots I just pull in at about 45 mph and aim for a small subcompact car and take my foot off the gas, the Jeep usually brings itself to a stop once I get the front wheels on...
  15. Parade Driving- Manual Transmission

Yes use 2WD. If start and stop use first gear. If moving at a constant speed it depends on speed, if going fast enough for second gear without bogging down engine use second.
  16. Two identical JT Sports have different fenders.

Yes, you can modify the fenders to get additional clearance. But it is still clearly a differnt fender then the one on the Rubicon which actually mounts the fenders higher and doesn't need the inner liner removed to clear larger tires.
  17. Two identical JT Sports have different fenders.

Max tow does not use Rubicon fenders. It has it's own fenders that are basically sport fenders with an extra lip. So you can fit the wider axle and keep the tires covered to be legal in all 50 states but you don't get the extra space for larger tires like a Rubicon with it's raised fenders...
  18. Rubicon vs mohave which one should i buy

Either a Rubicon or a Mojave would be extreme overkill for fire roads at 35mph. But you should be able to get to the capability level with a sport for far less then the cost of trading in for a Mojave or a Rubicon. It would be considerably cheaper to just add the features you want to your...
