No it’s not the Dakota frame and yes it was designed for the Gladiator only. Dakota (or Ram <insert name>) is already getting ready for it’s return. It will be built in the Jeep Toledo plant alongside the JT but is body on frame.
Correct. If you want leather I’m certain there will be aftermarket options like katzkin leather. I to am now leaning toward the Sport S as the highest Tim level I would go. Originally it was an Overland but I believe it will be priced out of what I want to spend.
This is my fear. I originally was hoping to go with an Overland and not exceed the $48-$50K mark (with some added options - creature comforts). Then I decided that a nicely packaged Sport S would fall well within the $40-$45K mark and would save me some $$$ while still satisfying what I could be...
I to was leaning Overland but with the Max Tow option available I’m swayed to the Sprt S. Unless you want/need the creature comforts (Matching color fender, leather interior, 8.4” uconnect infotainment system, etc...). But I’m certain the price savings for the Sport S will override the creature...
Awesome package release for the JT Sport S. This sways me to believe that a Sport S is the right decision when adding the Max Tow package. There will be so much JT aftermarket mods out there that it'll be a completely different Jeep within the first year! LOL.
Outside of the Electronic sway...

This is an excellent source. I read through the whole thread and will definitely skip the OEM in hope that HH makes the Gladiator version. I’ll be buying with the Assassin Tape!
This might be a question for any current JK/JL owner. How significant is the hardtop headliner? A must have? I’m in Michigan and plan to use the JT as the daily driver.
The insulating hardtop headliner helps keep interior temperatures down in the summer and up in the winter and deadens road...
Trading in a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2). Have 142K on it now. All highway. Changed jobs and no longer will be packing on the miles and long rides. Ready to get my JT
Had a 1998 Cherokee lifted with 33’s. Loved leaf springs. Just throw in a couple blocks and a longer u-bolt to lift the Cherokee’s. Don’t forget the link extender or risk death wobble. LoL. Don’t have a pic for some reason but will update once I can find one.
Then I moved into a 2004 Liberty...
It's a tester. The headquarters (FCA/Jeep) and development is 25 minutes from where this was spotted at. I've seen 3 recently parked over at the headquarter building already.
The Rubi definitely screams off-road whereas the Overland trim defines more of a classy but still adventurous look. I myself will opt for the Overland trim (if its not priced out of my estimated budget). The Rubi would have been something I would definitely had pulled the trigger on about 10+...
Love the color matched look. But mainly I’m a creature comfort type of person and there are much more options to add into the JT when starting with the Overland trim.
