I found some almost new Falken Wild peak AT3W - 35x12.5R17 on MT 17x10 Classic Baja wheels on Craigs. I don’t know the back spacing. They were off a JK. His wife didn’t like how high they were.
Funny story.. They were in a town 45 min away. I got to messaging the guy and he ended up being...
I made threaded plates for my JCR rack. The current design uses carriage bolts that stick out of plates that slide into the rail. I wanted to be able to lift the rack straight up and off with a tent on it. The slots would not allow for this with the bolts sticking out. I had to cut the bolts...
Next I installed the half rack from JCR. I like it. It is well built. I do wish it came with stainless hardware. I cut some rubber pads to between the rack feet and the bed.
I picked up my White JTR back in July 19. The first JT sale for the dealership and one of the first ones in the state. I love it. I want to name it Gladitude, but my daughter calls it Gladys. I guess we will have to wait and see who it comes to when we call its name. ;)
I have been slowly...
Looks great! This is exactly what I am leaning towards for my rubicon. I like the fact that it still has a slight rake to it. When I put my rack and RTT on it will sit close to level. I was looking at the lift kit and it looks like there is an option for shock extenders. I may be able to...
So the daystar 2” lifts and levels? I thought it was 2” on both the front and the rear? I’m debating on keeping the rake so when I run a rack and RTT it will sit level.
Is there a noticeable difference between the kits that use non-metal vs metal spring spacers?
I have the JCR half rack (12.5"). It is good quality. I have a RTT on it. The half rack is great for accessing the tent during set up and putting away. It also helps a lot with gas mileage. But it is kind of a pin to get at the gear under it. The main reason I got the half rack is that I...
I was going to make plates with threaded holes that slide into the rails and the bolts go in from the outside. Then I can remove the bolts and lift the rack straight up.
The JCR rack does not remove easily if you use the carriage bolts and plate inside the factory rails. The bolts stick out through the slots in the rack base plates. And because the slots do not go all the way down the plate, you can not lift the rack straight up. You have to loosen the legs...
Thanks! No, I think I'm going to keep it and try to have it mounted under the rack. I may mount a spare on it and still have the bed for totes or drawers. Or put a piece of plywood or basket/roof rack on it to hold more gear. Also I think it would cost more in shipping than the materials cost.
I rigged this up over the weekend while I wait for my new bed rack to arrive. Its pretty solid and easily removable. I may leave the tent on the rails and use them to hoist the tent up off the bed to the rafters of my garage. Or leave the rails mounted as is and put plywood or a cage on them...
