  1. Play in steering/steering wheel

Perfect, now you know you’re just trying to improve it a bit and don’t have to worry about masking an underlying suspension issue. For me, getting rid of the factory wheels and going to an 8.5” wide wheel that pokes out just a little from the fender made a big difference. Even on the Mojave, I...
  2. Play in steering/steering wheel

You might want to test drive a new JT Sport just to compare your steering play. I wouldn't add the ATS 2.0 until you know for sure your steering play is normal.
  3. Play in steering/steering wheel

It may take fewer clicks past center to get the same steering response with smaller tires. If I'm at 18 on 35" tires, you may find the same improvement at a lower setting (12 clicks being "center"). If you do order one, know that you'll need to order the old style Mopar steering stabilizer bolt...
  4. Play in steering/steering wheel

From the factory, all JL/JT except the XR package vehicles have some play in the steering. It's no big deal at lower speeds, but on the interstate, it feels a bit like you're in a bobsled race in the Olympics, sliding back and forth in your lane. Steering input is slightly delayed due to the...
  5. 6 Speed Manual Regrets?

I used to own a '75 Ford with utility drawer bed that had a 3-speed manual on the column shifter that was more satisfying to drive. A '76 Beetle that was more satisfying. A 1997 VW GTI manual. A 1978 Dodge Power Wagon manual. A Korean War-era Weapons Carrier (joking). I could go on. Heck, even...
  6. 6 Speed Manual Regrets?

Simple ≠ Reliable Complex ≠ Unreliable I would love to have a manual trans in my Mojave. But Jeep would have had to deliver a manual trans that was heavy duty, bullet-proof, ideally-geared for both off and on-road driving, and satisfying to shift. They could have offered such an HD manual...
  7. Gladiator is crap for towing

Exactly. I would want to hear from a JTD owner who tried the new grill in situations where they previously had trouble towing over high altitude mountain passes due to high engine temps.
  8. Gladiator is crap for towing

Why aren’t diesel JT owners swapping in the 2024 grille which has improved airflow to see if they lower engine temps on long mountain passes? Besides the fact that they are ugly (the grille, not the owners). Airflow resistance in the engine bay was mentioned as a difficulty, as in where does...
  9. Fox ATS 2.0 mount in wrong orientation

Might as well write a mini review: Like doing the Apex quick disconnects, I continue to learn that doing even minor suspension modifications without a lift sucks, at least at my age. If I ever do another Fox stabilizer install, fuck that Fox axle bracket. I will do the Synergy relocation kit...
  10. Fox ATS 2.0 mount in wrong orientation

The change put the reservoir horizontal facing backward, which seems to fit. I have about a finger’s width of space between the reservoir and the axle. Edit: had to adjust the reservoir downward slightly after all. Once the bolts were tightened and torqued, the reservoir was just a bit too...
  11. Fox ATS 2.0 mount in wrong orientation

Ok, sorry for the fire drill. I was able to get enough torque applied to my hex wrench to get the mount to rotate. Not sure why they ship it in that orientation, but whatever.
  12. Fox ATS 2.0 mount in wrong orientation

It's the right part number according to Fox's website. And Fox's site has the same photo showing the wrong direction for the bolt holes. https://www.ridefox.com/product.php?m=truck&t=shocks&partnumber=983-02-148&make=Jeep&model=Gladiator+JT&year=2023&position=Stabilizer The head has a hex bolt...
  13. Fox ATS 2.0 mount in wrong orientation

I could not loosen the hex key bolt that holds it in place on the opposite side. The hex key wrench was bending. Might be held in with Loctite. It will probably come loose and allow reorientation with an impact wrench, but I need to be sure that's ok to do. I don't want to accidentally void the...
  14. Fox ATS 2.0 mount in wrong orientation

It's not the bracket that's the issue, it's the bolt holes on the shock that the bracket bolts to are not oriented in the correct direction.
  15. Fox ATS 2.0 mount in wrong orientation

I just opened my Fox ATS 2.0 from @Northridge4x4 and have an install question. The mounting hex bolt locations on the shock itself that the bracket attaches to are not oriented in the right direction per the manual. The instructions do not mention anything about this being adjustable. There is a...
  16. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Looks great, wish I'd gone straight to the 37s (said everyone that ever bought 35s). You'd be really happy with some aftermarket wheels. I went with Method 707 Bead Grips, which have just the slightest bit of poke. Even with 35s, the improvement in the ride quality was noticeable. Ride is now...
  17. Think Im done with Jeep, guys.

Advice from a recovering 2018 Power Wagon owner: don't test drive one because you'll be driving it home. Like the JT/JL, it's one of the few vehicles that are in a class of their own.
  18. Think Im done with Jeep, guys.

Are you “done with Jeep guys” or are you “done with Jeep, guys”?
  19. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Adding photos of them in blue. Just installed on my Mojave by @Discount Tire in ABQ after ordering them from DT’s website:
