  1. Diesel Engine issue tracking thread... also please post if NO issues!

I put my banks on Turbine inlet temp (TIT). Reads the same as EGT1 in fact I think its using the egt probe to formulate the turbo inlet temp. I have seen 1550 for a split second with a banks derringer that is brutal. It immediately cuts back to 1300-1400. 1200 is ideal safe no issues egt. Up...
  2. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

https://www.amazon.com/Setrab-FP625M22I-ProLine-6-Fanpack-Volt/dp/B08Z2236PN?th=1 $811.00 have to select the 50 row. I still think radiator first then oil cooler but you guys let me know how this works. I have a heavy hesitation to having soft engine oil lines under my jeep offroad. Even if...
  3. CP4 weak point and why the CP3 is the only solution.

It is near the top of the engine and I believe there is a silencing cover over it. They dont have to do a whole lot to replace it but when they die it clogs the injectors. Not sure why they change the lines when you could run a pipe cleaner or brush through. They likely do this as an extra...
  4. Exhaust Question.

Honestly you can just cut off the resonator and muffler put a turndown on it and get similar sound with better clearance. The 3.6L sounds like a rice burner no matter what youve done. One of the worst sounding engines on earth short of a VQ.
  5. What's the hardest Jeep mod/install you've ever done?

The metal cloak lift on my diesel for sure.....I had to lift the jeep until the roof hit the garage and then had to compress the springs to get them in. The droop is absolutely insane.
  6. CP4 weak point and why the CP3 is the only solution.

I believe we have a 4.2. There are apparently 2 "revisions" or more of the 4.2 design. No clue how to tell what they changed or how its better but if ram is putting cp3's back in then none of them are any good.
  7. CP4 weak point and why the CP3 is the only solution.

from a ram forum regarding the 4.2: " 1) The CP4.2 injection pump was installed in all 2019-2020 RAM 6.7s. The original had an asymmetrical cam design for the lifter. The theory of failure is that the aggressive ramp rate of the cam lobe contributes to the lifter turning in the bore...
  8. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

The gauge on your dash is not a true oil pressure gauge ive been told it is emulated based on PID's.
  9. CP4 weak point and why the CP3 is the only solution.

Still when it destructs your dead in the water. This just saves the rails and injectors.
  10. CP4 weak point and why the CP3 is the only solution.

CP3 is capable of 550-600HP according to some. That is significant compared to our little cp4 that cant do 250 without exploding.
  11. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

I am curious if the plugs on the filter housing are full flow or a "bypass" setup. Does all oil flow through these? It cant because then with them in nothing would flow. Adding a cooler into a open loop will only allow enough oil to flow through the cooler when pressure is high enough that the...
  12. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

I have posted this before: http://www.setrabusa.com/products/fanpacks/fp160m22i/index.html 60 rows only 8.27" tall with 3 500+ CFM fans.....
  13. Who else is happy with the Pentastar?

I had a 2015 3.6L 2 door JK and often complained it didnt have much power and poor throttle response. It was a 6 speed. The 2020 max tow I had had 4.10 gears and felt much peppier with the 8 speed but....the throttle response was significantly worse like a delay was programmed in. Clearly the...
  14. Diesel Gladiator Fuel System issues

I posted a thread with a good look at what the issues are with these.
  15. CP4 weak point and why the CP3 is the only solution.

In the video above it is clear why the cp4.2 is an inferior design to the cp3. The ramp rate on the shaft/cam is radical and the friction is very high. Remember its not lubricated by oil but by diesel. This is why additives are so important. I have been running 2oz of hot shots EDT and I...
  16. 2023 Chevy Colorado just dropped... What does that mean for the Gladiator.

Looks like a tacoma with extra steps and less reliability :P
  17. DEF tank only lasted ~2,800 miles per computer

Pretty sure the platinum does have additives to try to prevent crystalization. Eitherway keeping the tank as full as possible and using your vehicle will prevent problems. Def really cannot sit long term especially in a hot fuel tank on a jeep.
  18. DEF tank only lasted ~2,800 miles per computer

Also to note you can way overfill these and sometimes full is really only 3/4 tank. The level sensor is terrible.
  19. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

Yes he tried cooling the coolant down going into the oil housing. I wonder how much flow comes out of the 2 ports that hes using for cooling now?
  20. Where is the instant MPG display setting?

Well.... My 2020 gladiator had no issues with this. My 2022 diesel with a tazer is now intermittently not showing instant mpg figure as in numerical and seems to be stuck and not flip back and forth between the two screen options. It alwasy just shows its in the "right" side box. Randomly...
