I just went out and tested. Key only works when close to the doors. It did not work from the front bumper, front tires, or truck bed area. Just a reminder that the truck tailgate locks with the rest of the vehicle so if you put it in the bed with a cover you may be locked out.
I stream my music and it sounds great to me. I test drove one with the 7 inch screen and it was night and day difference.
I have the perimeter key and it's worth the convenience. You still need to push a button on the door handle to lock the doors. Wish it was like my Mazda where it locks...
No. 8.4 only. You can still cycle through the information on the gauge cluster though.
The 8.4 also gets you upgraded audio with a subwoofer. I have it and it sounds nice.
I would also get the aux switches.
That Rubicon has almost zero options and is virtually bare bones.
I personally would not buy that Rubicon.
I was able to get my Overland with all the bells and whistles for 47,000 That includes adaptive cruise, parking sensors, leather, premium soft top, upgraded audio and screen, auxiliary...

Yesterday I finally got around to installing the front Rubicon springs and terraflex 1.5 leveling kit on the overland. Got enought lift out of it that the terraflex swaybar quick disconnects now work without rubbing :)
Still need to do the back springs and Daystar 3/4 spacer.
Trying to torque...
It was 90 degrees with no wind or shade at our site. It was a great experience but not one I'm willing to repeat in the summer.
We just got back from there a week ago.
Soft top for me. Don't really understand the man bun look aversion. I'm not looking at it from the outside when I'm driving. Love being able to throw the top back at any time and put it back on if the weather goes south.
Plus I don't have a garage, so storing and taking off the roof would be...
Did a little beach wheeling at OBX. Hurricane Henri has kicked the tides up a notch and I unfortunately had to drive through some salt water puddles to get back to the beach exit. No where to rinse off either until Monday. Guess it's no worse than the salt on the roads during the winter.
