I think Shadow meant that the adjustment of the whole replaceable housing isn't correct/adjusted properly straight from aftermarket/factory. and/or an aftermarket bulb being replaced in a housing is "not" specifically designed for the reflector housing.

Big picture once you need gears you already have a lift, wheels, racks that go clank added weight that all start to make more noise and stress than a stock ride and early noises from a piñon are masked and by the time it’s noticed damage is done that’s why 7 years is a good run on set of gears...
